Residents of Gaza would rather have a ceasefire than aid

Since the outbreak of the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, a large number of Palestinians have been displaced. Many residents of the Gaza Strip have fled to Rafah, the southernmost city in the Gaza Strip, which is also the main port of entry for outside humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Many say they would rather have access to aid than an early and permanent ceasefire.

Displaced Persons Mustafa: We are grateful for all of this to increase and sustain humanitarian assistance and to facilitate access to humanitarian assistance. But above all, a ceasefire is needed now more than humanitarian assistance, and we don't mean a short ceasefire of a day or two or a week.

With the opening of the Rafah crossing, more humanitarian supplies are entering the Gaza Strip, but the number of people fleeing from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip is also increasing. While waiting at the relief post to receive supplies, the people of Gaza hope for a ceasefire and return to their homes.

Displaced Bularoy: Look at what's happening here, we don't want to just be busy looking for food, we want to go back to our land, that's all, we just want to stay in our own homes. Aid does not solve the fundamental problem, we want a solution. People are dying, and even if we have food and clothing, the fear that hangs over us is worse than hunger. People are dying from frequent shelling, we don't want food for aid, we want a ceasefire, we want an end to the war.
