Seventy-year-old owners love the stunning mountain views and bright windows, and the new home continues the traditional way of living on the upper floors.

Most of the time she lives alone, and it is only when her children and grandchildren come to visit that her grandmother's house is full of life.

With a focus on comfort and simplicity, the design concept is designed to create a barrier-free interior environment with plenty of storage in mind.

It is located in an 83-square-meter old house, facing the problem of western sun.

The design challenge was not only to overcome the constraints of existing space, but also to incorporate a modern living aesthetic while meeting the needs of the homeowner.

The overall design focuses on the organic integration of the unique charm of the old house with the contemporary lifestyle, making this residence a place where time intersects.

Nature of the house:Renovation of old houses.

Space Members:One adult.

Space Area:83 square meters.

Main building materials:Super wear-resistant flooring, seamless coatings, solid wood veneer, system cabinets, special lacquer coatings, iron parts.

Through the clever use of materials, the various areas are cleverly separated, from the entryway to the kitchen to the balcony, and the seamless paint design presents a clean and uncluttered visual effect.

The TV wall extends from the hallway and is painted with straw stems and infused with warm tones.

The living space, bedroom and study are made of ultra-hard-wearing wood flooring that is easy to maintain, while the toilets are made of easy-to-care non-slip tiles.

The entrance is designed with a swing ramp to provide friendly travel conditions for the circulation line.

The entrance door is open, and a swing ramp is set up, and anti-slip strips are pasted to raise the terrain to the living room in a turning way, and the floor of other areas is kept flat, striving to create a barrier-free space.

A full-length mirror adds transparency to the right side of the entryway, and the lightness of the elements is presented between the higher floors and the lower ceilings.

Through the clever use of materials and spatial layout, the design concept aims to create a living environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The introduction of a suspended shoe cabinet delicately connects the entrance and the dining room, becoming a unique entrance view, which is not only a dining table cabinet, but also hides the whole interior view.

Those who enter the room cannot see the whole thing, but on the side of the dining room, the movement of the hallway can be perceived through the openwork panel between the shoe cabinet and the wall.

Here, it is possible to change shoes, do chores such as spraying alcohol, storing keys, etc.

The suspended shoe cabinet cleverly avoids direct contact with the ground, and the hollow shelves at the bottom, combined with indirect lighting, not only reduce the visual burden of the space, but also indicate the height difference through lighting.

The living room is equipped with concealed air conditioning, and the air outlet is the same as the edge of the shoe cabinet and the lighting, so that you can enjoy the bright light as soon as you enter the door, as if welcoming the return of the owner.

This design concept creates a unique experience for the interplay of interior and exterior spaces through a wonderful combination of materials and spatial layouts.

To improve ventilation, the kitchen has been strategically moved to the balcony.

The focal point is the uniquely designed pocket door, which not only opens normally, but is also cleverly hidden in the door opening, maximizing access to the living room and keeping the windows between the kitchen and the living room airy at all times.

Even when the doors are closed, natural light from the kitchen permeates the dining room through the magical glass doors, creating an otherworldly sense of air flow.

The design concept allows air to flow freely through a striking door design and light layout, creating a wonderful and unimaginable atmosphere.

In the dining room, the small island is magically integrated with the dining table, and the work surface extends to the sturdy stone countertop of the small middle island, providing additional space for operation.

Under the island, there is a cleverly designed electrical cabinet to cleverly accommodate kitchen appliances such as ovens, induction cookers, coffee machines, and more.

The side of the small island is also cleverly equipped with socket holes, which make it easy to use electrical appliances around the hearth.

Kitchen and electrical cabinets are smartly arranged on the wall of the dining room, with snacks, medicines, small appliances and other items inside, and a small sink for easy washing and water dispensing, ensuring that you can enjoy a comfortable time with full functionality when dining or enjoying afternoon tea.

In the living room, the traditional TV cabinet is abandoned, making the visual space more spacious, and the audio-visual equipment is neatly integrated into the storage cabinet at the bottom of the couch.

This design concept breaks with tradition through bizarre configurations and object layouts, allowing items to be organized in an orderly manner, creating an incomprehensible and mysterious atmosphere for the space.

The owner's love for the distant mountains makes the window design stand out from the rest.

The designer cleverly added a small platform 40 centimeters above the couch to get a closer view of the gorgeous mountain scenery outside the window.

The height of the couch is at the same level as the seat of the armchair, outlining a clean and elegant line.

In order to solve the problem of sun exposure in the west, a unique design of the organ curtain was introduced.

By subtly adjusting the way the curtain folds, you can flexibly control the width of the field of view and the degree of shading to create an extremely attractive interior scene.

The location of the original balcony has been remodeled, and the beams are decorated with curved ceilings, and the structural wall and the back of the sofa are transformed into a desk area.

The solid wood veneer desk made of iron-clad wood is lightweight and reduced in size, and the curved edge of the table cleverly echoes the inner curve of the structural wall to avoid collisions.

The table top is made of iron shelves made of thin iron round rods, which not only imparts a sense of transparency, but also creates a unique sense of transparency through the light.

This lightness extends to the cute little chandelier, which is paired with natural light to bring comfortable lighting to the study.

In order to cope with the large number of books, an airtight bookcase was chosen, and the open storage area was convenient for displaying small collections.

A corner between the bookcase and the couch creates a sense of privacy and security, creating a quiet and pleasant reading nook.

Through the clever structure and use of materials, this design concept creates a mysterious space full of literature in the room.

This versatile area features four delicate pleated doors to store clothing and miscellaneous items, while internal shelves are ready to hold suitcases.

The original design of the space had large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, but due to the orientation of the window, dew condensed on the windows in the cold winter, and in the hot summer, the strong sunlight caused the indoor temperature to rise abnormally.

To solve this problem, we carried out a series of modifications, replacing the windows with half-height waist panels, which effectively reduced the indoor temperature and brought a sense of psychological stability.

Between the two bathrooms, you've created an exclusive storage space dedicated to cleaning supplies, hygiene amenities and seasonal appliances.

This hidden corner not only provides an orderly storage place for items, but also has outlets for charging devices such as handheld vacuum cleaners.

Bathroom doors all feature cleverly designed sliding doors that can be fully opened, creating an extremely unobstructed space that is often left open to facilitate ventilation.

Along the side of the wall leading to the toilets, we have cleverly placed a smart timed night light system to care for residents who visit the toilets late at night, providing them with a sense of direction that follows the light.

In the bathroom, floating silica steel countertops are made of high-hardness material that is not only easy to clean, but also resistant to pigment adsorption and long-term aesthetics.

This unique design not only shows excellent creativity in space planning, but also adds a mysterious and practical element to the nighttime restroom experience through the clever use of night lights.

At night, this intimate space is like a dream city, providing you with a safe and comfortable place to live at night.

In this design project, the occupant's son demonstrated his exceptional skills in carpentry, so the mother was recommended and chose to work with a design firm.

Once the project is complete, one of the hostess's favorite activities is to sit on the sofa and gently swipe the phone, and the happiest moment is when the children and grandchildren step through the door and bring the whole family together.

The memory is vividly engraved with the scene of the little grandson stepping into his new home for the first time, and the designer watched the curious little gentleman look around for adventure.

The hostess asked him with joy what he had found, and the little boy pulled out a high-pitched basket and said in amazement, "Grandma's house looks like a restaurant!"”

Being able to entertain their beloved family in such a wonderful space and inviting friends and family to spend the Chinese New Year at home is the most enjoyable time for homeowners.

This home is not only a place to live, but also a warm embrace, a source of laughter.
