In the early to mid-70s of the last century, the state decided to build a large-scale Jinshan Petrochemical General Plant on Hangzhou Bay, a city with a good industrial base. As a result, this desolate and silent Hangzhou Bay for many years suddenly became lively, thousands of troops and horses gathered, cars and people came and went on the wharf construction site, tower cranes were lined up, machines roared, and a busy work scene.
At the same time, all walks of life in Shanghai have also set off an upsurge of support for the construction of Jinshan PetrochemicalMore than 10 young technical backbones from the No. 5 Dyeing and Chemical Plant in Shanghai, where I work, volunteered to go to Jinshan Petrochemical General Plant. They included my good friend, Li Fei, a young worker in a workshop, and another middle school alumnus in the power workshop, a welder.
The number of employees in our factory was less than 1,000 at that time, and more than 100 of the old three who entered the factory in 1968 gradually became the backbone of production technology after 3 years of study and Xi training, and some excellent ones have joined the party organization. One of them was my good friend Li Fei, who was only 24 years old at the time, when young people were talented, ambitious and energetic.
After the news of supporting Jinshan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. came, it aroused enthusiastic response in our factory. There are two old and young party members and technical backbones in the workshop where I am voluntarily registered, one of the older masters surnamed Sang, who is middle-aged, looks about 40 years old, comes from Shaoxing, speaks Shaoxing official dialect, thin figure, and eloquence. He has rich experience in the operation of chemical reaction positions, and has also served as a workshop production shift leader.
With the approval of the party organization of the factory, these two old and young party members successfully joined Jinshan Petrochemical Construction together with other registered volunteersAs far as I know, there are more than 10 comrades in our factory who volunteered to go to Jinshan Petrochemical. They are all the backbone of production technology in the factory, the oldest is Master Sang in the workshop, and most of the others are unmarried men and women in their 20s (there are also a few female comrades). Among them, there are chemical reaction operators, electricians, welders and other technical jobs. It is said that there was an electrician surnamed Chen who taught himself Japanese and English and played an important role in his later work.
Because of my friend Li Fei, Jinshan Petrochemical has become a place we often visit. I've been there seven or eight times since it was built in the 1970s. Every time, I take the small train from Shanghai to Jinshan, and then transfer to the bus. Looking at the magnificent factory building of the petrochemical plant, the huge stretch of colored raw material pipelines, the huge fireball burning in the sky, the neatly arranged new houses of petrochemical residents in the new village, as well as the seaside embankment of Jinshan and the Chenshan oil wharf, it is amazing and proud!
Years have passed, nearly half a century has passed in a blink of an eye, and my friend Li Fei has retired from a petrochemical department and settled in the Dahua area of Shanghai. As for the welder alumnus, we have also met him in recent years, and he is still enjoying his retirement life in Jinshan Petrochemical New Village.
At that time, these good people and good horses supported the construction of the national Jinshan Petrochemical Industry has already become a good story and has been recorded in the glorious annals of history!
