The University of Turin, the University of Milan, the University of Palermo, the University of Foggia and the University of Sassari have reached an agreement to open the International Inter-University Degree Program in Viticulture and Oenology (EVS), which brings together the results of a long and fruitful pedagogical scientific activity initiated by Professor Giovanni Dalmaso, at the University of Turin, with the Postgraduate Professional Program in Viticulture and Oenology (1949) In 1982 it was transformed into a specialized school of viticulture and oenology, and then into the only school of viticulture and oenology in Italy, which is open to graduates from all over Italy and abroad.

The course aims to develop professionals with an advanced level of preparation who are suitable for professional activities in the field of viticulture and oenology, ensuring the mastery and autonomy of professionals. Particular attention is paid to the ability to solve complex problems in the management of wine and wine production systems, which are related to the environmental and socio-economic aspects of the region, as well as the ability to use innovative tools and rigorous working methods.

The training activities are interdisciplinary and aim to develop knowledge and skills to support the design and transfer of knowledge in the viticulture and winemaking industries. In addition to a solid scientific and technical foundation, the degree program is highly practical and carries out activities in research centers or large wine-growing companies in Italy or abroad, as well as internships supervised by qualified instructors.

The course is divided into two parts:

"Basic Courses", taught in Italian and English, dedicated to graduates of viticulture and oenology;

International Courses", taught in English, for graduates from other industries and foreign graduates.

In the second year, each student chooses from different courses offered by different partner institutions (Turin, Milan, Palermo, Foggia and Sassari!).The second year can also be held at one of the European Union (European Master in Viticulture and Oenology).
