These data** are provided in the Chinese Population and Employment Statistics Yearbook 2023, Part II - 2022 Population Change Sample Survey Data. By calculating and combing the marital status of the national population aged 15 and over by age and gender, we obtained data on the unmarried rate of people of all ages. Among them, the unmarried rate in the age group of 25 to 29 is 513%, which means that one out of every two people is unmarried. The unmarried rate in the 30-34 age group reached 184%, which is a relatively high percentage, especially considering that this age group has usually entered the workforce and started to take on more social responsibility.
Even more surprising is the fact that only 8 per cent of those aged 35 to 39 are unmarried. This suggests that as people get older, more and more people are choosing to get married or stay in a stable partnership. However, despite this low percentage, there are still a small number of people in this age group who choose to remain single.
For this data, we need to think deeply about the reasons behind it. Why are more and more people choosing to remain unmarried? Is it because of changes in the structure and values of modern society, or because of the need for personal choice and self-realization?This involves a number of factors, including but not limited to economic development, education, cultural background, and personal pursuits.
The rise in the rate of unmarried is a complex social phenomenon that needs to be understood and analyzed from multiple perspectives. It is not only related to the life and happiness of individuals, but also affects the overall development and progress of society. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to this issue and actively create a more favorable social environment and conditions to promote people's marriage and family life.
