The 800V high-voltage platform has become completely popular in the past two years, not only supporting ultra-fast charging, but also with very low energy consumption. BYD, as the current leader of the domestic electric vehicle market, seems to have little layout in the 800V field, but is this really the case?

A few days ago, BYD held a "more than fast, all-round evolution - BYD full-scene efficient charging technology communication meeting" in Shanghai, BYD Automotive Engineering Institute Vice President Ling Heping fully demonstrated BYD's charging technology in different periods of new energy vehicle development, it turns out that BYD has long had an 800V high-voltage platform.

Ling Heping, vice president of BYD Automotive Engineering Institute, said: As early as 2015, the 800V high-voltage platform was mass-produced in advance, which was installed in models such as Qin EV and Tang DM, so that the vehicle has stronger performance and 000 acceleration is as fast as 49 seconds;Longer range, from 300 km to 450 km;Faster charging, 30 kW upgrade to 60 kW.

The high-voltage platform is BYD's basic platform technology, and has completed the layout of the full-brand high-voltage platform, such as: Han, Tang, Qin, Song, Seal, Denza D9, Denza N7, Equation Leopard 5, Yangwang U8 and other representative models are all from BYD's latest 800V high-voltage platform.

However, at that time, there were no 800V piles for 800V cars, and more than 95% of low-pressure piles below 500V were used, so even with this technology, it was still unable to fully play its role due to the limited infrastructure. As a result, BYD pioneered the world's first step-up charging technology, and continuously updated the technology, upgrading from DC boost charging to electric drive boost charging, and then upgraded to oil-cooled electric drive boost charging, which can completely solve the incompatibility of low-voltage piles and 100% adapt to all DC charging piles.

This year, BYD also pioneered the world's first dual-gun supercharging technology for passenger cars, allowing public fast charging piles to become supercharging piles in seconds, so as to adapt to the current situation of wide popularity of fast charging piles and the scarcity of supercharging piles. At present, there are only 2% of public supercharging piles with a current of more than 300A, and fast charging piles are widely popular, and supercharging piles are extremely scarce.

Ling Heping believes that the uplift scheme proposed by BYD is more suitable for the actual situation of China's charging piles. Taking the DENZA N7 as an example, the maximum power of dual-gun overcharging can reach 230 kW, and the battery life can be supplemented in 15 minutes on the public fast charging pile to achieve 350 kilometers.

Also this year, BYD pioneered the world's first composite direct cooling technology, and the thermal management was upgraded to make it faster and more stableIt also pioneered the full-scene intelligent pulse self-heating technology, which can realize fast charging of cold cars even in the environment of -30.

Taking the DENZA N7 as an example, under the extremely cold condition of -30, the all-scenario intelligent pulse self-heating technology increases the battery heating rate by 230% compared with the traditional solution, and reduces the battery full charging time by 30%, so that users in northern China can also enjoy a fast charging experience in winter. In addition, this technology can not only self-heat when charging, but also intelligently start the self-heating technology when parking and driving to ensure the performance of the vehicle at extremely low temperatures.
