In 1984, Li Jinrong, chief physician of Wuhan University Hospital of Stomatology, went to Africa as a member of the 11th batch of China (Hubei) medical team to aid Algeria, helping the recipient hospital to carry out a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgeries, and performing the first total rhinoplasia reconstruction operation in Africa for a girl whose nose was bitten off by a donkey. After nearly 40 years, Filuz came to Wuhan from Algeria to reunite with her "Chinese mother" Li Jinrong, and once again recalled the deep friendship between the Chinese and Arab peoples.
Over the past 60 years, Hubei Province has sent a total of 3,706 medical team members to Algeria and Lesotho, treating 27.57 million outpatients and performing 1.75 million surgeries.
