Manchester City have asked Barcelona to pay £26 million if they wish to sign Joe Cancelo on a permanent basis. The Portuguese right-back is currently on loan at Barcelona and has brought stability to Barcelona's right-back position with three goals and assists in 15 La Liga appearances this season. However, due to Barcelona's financial situation, the club may struggle to complete a permanent transfer and will be hoping to be able to agree on a loan deal again.
Barcelona are also looking to extend the loan contract of striker Joe Felix, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid. Felix and Cancelo form a good partnership on the right side, scoring three goals in 15 La Liga matches. Cancelo's versatility is reflected in his ability to play both at left-back and as a right winger.
He has been an important player for Barcelona this season and has gained a lot of playing time. Since Joao Cancelo lost his place in Pep Guardiola's side, Kyle Walker has taken over City's preferred right-back position. After the winter break, Cancelo and Barcelona will try to close the seven-point gap to league leaders Real Madrid.
