The protagonists of today's event are 15 members of the "Little Jingling" children's observation group composed of 8-15 years old children from Tiancai Jinghua Community. After the observation of the preliminary observation group, the place to be renovated today is an old landscape pool in Tiancai Jinghua Community, about 50 square meters, half a meter deep, there is no fence around this pool, the bottom of the pool will grow moss in summer, and the children who play in the courtyard are easy to fall into the pool if they do not pay attention, and there are potential safety hazards.
At the event site, the staff encouraged "Little Jingling" to create and design on site. Subsequently, horticulturists, Xiao Jingling and their parents, property owners, courtyard residents, etc. participated in the construction activity, and everyone actively discussed the collocation of green plants and the location of planting on site. "Little Elite Spirit" and parents jointly claimed the "flower box", and the parents led the children to experience the planting, and transformed the small terrace with potential safety hazards into a small garden that can be watched and prevented from falling, and a "safe paradise" for children.
Through the children's creation camp model, the community of Southwest Jiaotong University combines the "micro-transformation" of the community with the construction of a child-friendly community, so that the children in the community can participate in the decision-making of the community, and discuss the future planning and development of the community as "decision-makers on an equal footing with adults". Through participation in community planning, the sense of responsibility and ownership of residents, especially children, is further enhanced.
