Recently, the second China Meteorological Tourism Industry Development Conference was held in Sanmenxia, Henan. At the meeting, the "China Meteorological Tourism Development Report (2023)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was officially released. 20 places, including Maoming in Guangdong and Liangshan in Sichuan, were selected as "Characteristic Meteorological Tourism Cities", and 10 places including Hangzhou in Zhejiang, Qingdao in Shandong, Guilin in Guangxi and Tongren in Guizhou were selected as "Top Ten Cities for Meteorological Tourism Development" in 2023, becoming a new choice for travel destinations with thousands of meteorological conditions.
The report takes 60 major cities with characteristic meteorological tourism resources as samples, and sets up 25 sub-indicators to conduct scientific and comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the sample cities from five dimensions: meteorological tourism resources, tourists and industrial economy, policy support and infrastructure, environmental protection and tourism sustainability, and climate suitability.
Chase the beautiful sunrise, enjoy the roaring thunderstorms, explore the starry sky at night, desert, ice and snow, rime, rime, rainforest ......All belong to meteorological tourism resources. Qu Ya, secretary-general of the China Meteorological Service Association, said that meteorological tourism, as an emerging cross-cutting field of the integration of meteorological resources and tourism industry, is not only important because it injects new vitality into the tourism industry, but also because of its multiple values in terms of economic, cultural and environmental sustainability.
During the conference, the "Evaluation Standard for Climate Health and Residence Suitability Index" was officially released, and Yixian County, Anhui Province became the first climate health and residence demonstration area. Huang Ping, president of the China Academy of Meteorological Tourism Economics, introduced that the evaluation index system of climate health and wellness sojourn suitability is composed of three first-level indicators of climate health care, health tourism, and health and wellness sojourn, and 8 secondary indicators and 40 first-class indicators of comfort, wind and degree, illumination, health, freshness, livability, travelability, and satisfaction, which are suitable for the evaluation of a certain area that relies on meteorological landscape, climatic conditions, ecological environment, human meteorology and other resources to carry out climate health care, health and wellness sojourn, and health tourism.
In addition, the 2023 meteorological research and travel camps were also announced at the meeting, and 20 camps from 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Fujian, Guizhou, and Xinjiang were selected, involving famous mountains and rivers, desert seashores, gardens and agricultural areas and other landscapes, becoming a new choice for children's extracurricular research trips.
According to reports, compared with the way of obtaining knowledge from books or the Internet, meteorological research advocates allowing students to enter the atmosphere scene, perceive nature while walking, and cultivate interest in ecological environment and natural science in experience. In the future, the China Meteorological Service Association will continue to launch more meteorological research travel camps with distinctive characteristics to create high-quality research routes with rich content.
