Yangzi Petrochemical-BASF Integrated Project
Founded in 2000, the company is an integrated petrochemical production base jointly funded by Sinopec and BASF with a 50:50 shareholding ratio. The company's integration project has been completed in two phases, mainly including 7400,000 tons of ethylene per year, 3050,000 tons of butanol, 1600,000 tons of acrylic acid, 2000,000 tons of butyl acrylate, 2100,000 tons per year LDPE EVA and so on. Among them, the EVA plant was put into operation in 2005, using the high-pressure tubular process of Basell, and the VA content in EVA products ranges from 4% to 28%. 
On April 28, 2022, Sinopec and BASF laid the foundation stone for the expansion of their integrated production site in Nanjing. The Verbund site is operated by BASF Yangzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The expansion project includes the construction of a new tert-butyl acrylate (TBA) plant and the expansion of downstream chemical plants, which will meet the growing demand in China.
