Forest have invited Nuno to coach the Etihad until November to deal with the battle for retention following Cooper's sacking.
Nottingham Forest announced on the 20th that Nuno Espirito Santo (49 years old) has been appointed as the new manager. Allegedly, the contract is for a period of two and a half years. Forest sacked manager Steve Cooper on the 19th, who will take charge of the team from the 2021-22 Championship (League Two) season. Last season, they remained in the top flight for the first time in 24 years, but after the 17th round of the season they are in 17th place (three points), five points behind 18th place Luton Town (1 game). The team played in the relegation zone and had a sluggish record, with 5 wins, 5 draws and 9 losses. In the last six games, they have drawn one and lost five, and they have completely come to a standstill. Nuno was appointed as his successor and has managed Rio Ave, Valencia, Porto, Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur. He has been in charge of the Etihad team since July 2022 and this season he has made major additions including former France national team striker Karim Benzema, but he was sacked in November. He also has extensive Premier League coaching experience and has shown his ability to lead the team to the quarter-finals of the Europa League during the 2019/20 season at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Nuno will make his debut with Forfleisse in the Premier League against Bournemouth on the 23rd.
