Hello everyone!I am Wang Jingqi, the "Red Scarf" docent of Class 5 (1) of Guangming Road Primary School in Xuchang City. Today, I will tell you the story of Qiu Shaoyun, a revolutionary martyr who was awarded the honorary title of "First-Class Hero" by the headquarters of the Chinese People's Volunteers.
In January, Qiu Shaoyun joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In the revolutionary army, he understood many revolutionary truths and consciously set strict demands on himself with iron discipline. He conscientiously studied Xi *** works, and wrote tens of thousands of words of reading notes in addition to training.
After the outbreak of the Korean War, Qiu Shaoyun actively signed up for the Volunteer Army, determined to train himself to become a real advanced proletarian fighter in the flames of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. He wrote in his letter of willingness to join the party: "For the sake of the world revolution and the victory of the battle, I am willing to sacrifice everything I have!"In March 1951, Qiu Shaoyun joined the Chinese People's Volunteer Army to fight in Korea. On his way to the front line, he braved the strafing and bombardment of US planes to rescue a North Korean child from a burning residential house.
In October 1952, Qiu Shaoyun's unit undertook the task of attacking the 391 heights of the "United **" outpost west of Jinhua. In order to shorten the attack distance and facilitate a sudden attack, on the night of the 11th, the unit organized more than 500 people to lurk in the grass at the front of the enemy's position, and Qiu Shaoyun was one of them.
At about 12 o'clock on the 12th, the U.S. military blindly fired an incendiary bomb, and a shot fell near Qiu Shaoyun's lurking point, and the grass immediately burned, and the fire quickly spread to his body, burning cotton clothes, and behind Qiu Shaoyun was a ditch, as long as he took a few steps back, he would turn over, and the fire could be extinguished in muddy water. However, in order not to expose the target and ensure the safety of all the hidden personnel and the completion of the attack mission, he gave up saving himself, gritted his teeth, and allowed the fire to scorch his hair and flesh, and persisted for more than 30 minutes, until he died heroically at the age of 26. After Qiu Shaoyun's death, the counterattack troops, inspired by his great dedication, victoriously captured the 391st Heights that night and completely annihilated a reinforced company of the US army.
Qiu Shaoyun is a special hero. He did not fire a single shot, did not destroy an enemy, did not blow up a pillbox, but with rare human willpower, he broke through the limit of pain borne by the human body, overcame the test of fire, and illuminated the road to victory for his comrades with his burning life, truly "seeking nothing but victory, and sparing nothing for victory". After the war, it was found that the charred body of martyr Qiu Shaoyun was curled up, and almost all the military clothes and rubber shoes on his body were burned, but the fragment of his military uniform that was only the size of a palm was left in the world, but it silently told the incomparable strength of the iron soldiers of the people's army on the battlefield.
Qiu Shaoyun's heroic deeds have made us deeply aware of the greatness and sacrificial spirit of the revolutionary martyrs. They used their flesh and blood to forge our happy life today.
