The eastern foothills of Helan Mountain, where this red wine is produced, are located at 37 to 39 degrees north latitude, with 3,000 hours of sunshine and no more than 200 mm of rainfall per year. The sandy soil of the Gobi Desert is rich in minerals and is an excellent place to grow grapes. The wine of the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain has become a unique national geographical indication product in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in western China.

Zhao Qian, Director of Public Affairs of Xige Winery, who attended the dinner, told the story of the rapid rise of China's high-quality wine producing regions represented by Ningxia, and the potential of Chinese wines to "surprise the world".

China's Ningxia wine industry started in 1984, and after nearly 40 years of development, it has gradually been recognized around the world and won many international awards. In 2013, the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain in Ningxia were included in the World Wine Atlas. As of 2022, Ningxia has 5830,000 acres, is China's largest wine grape concentrated contiguous production area. At present, there are 228 wineries and plantation business entities (including 116 wineries), which produce 13.8 billion bottles. Founded in 2017, Xige Winery is located in the core production area of Pigeon Mountain at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia, with more than 30,000 acres of vineyards, and has become a representative of large-scale boutique wineries in China. The winery has created the "3126" brewing rule of "fermentation period of 3 months, aging in oak barrels for more than 12 months, and bottle storage for more than 6 months", which makes Xige red wine show unique quality and taste, and has been exported to the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland and other countries and regions.
