On the morning of December 29, the opening ceremony of "Chasing Dreams and Asking the Sky - China Manned Space Engineering Achievement Exhibition - Shanghai Station" was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Xiao Guiyu, vice chairman of the Shanghai CPPCC and deputy secretary of the leading party group, Zhou Jianping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief designer of China's manned space program, Ji Qiming, assistant director of the China Manned Space Engineering Office, Wang Yaping, vice chairman (concurrently) of the All-China Women's Federation and special astronaut, and about 150 representatives of various units in Shanghai attended the opening ceremony.
In 1992, China's manned space program was officially established, and in 2022, the "three-step" strategic task was successfully completed, and China's space station was fully completed. After more than 30 years of continuous struggle of several generations of astronauts, the Chinese nation has historically realized its thousand-year-old dream of flying into the sky, successfully made breakthroughs in mastering a series of key core technologies, created a brilliant record of 30 battles and 30 victories in major flight missions, built a great power heavy weapon whose lifeline is completely in the hands of the Chinese themselves, embarked on a path of manned space development in line with China's national conditions, gave birth to the great manned space spirit incorporated into the spiritual lineage of the Chinese communists, and possessed the confidence and ability to develop side by side with the world's space powers, and is building a space powerThe journey of climbing the peak of science and technology has added another "milestone" in the annals of history, and has written a magnificent chapter in the vast universe of supporting the Chinese dream with the aerospace dream.
The achievement exhibition is divided into glorious history, brilliant achievements, future prospects and other sections, comprehensively and systematically reviewing the glorious history of self-confidence and self-improvement and striving to realize dreams for more than 30 years, focusing on the leapfrog development and historic achievements made by the strong leadership of the aerospace industry with comrades as the core since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The tremendous political advantages and practical greatness of adhering to the path of development with Chinese characteristics have vividly demonstrated the high-spirited spirit of the vast number of astronauts who are particularly able to endure hardships, fight, tackle key problems, and make contributions.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge and lasts for 50 days, and the main exhibits include a 1:1 model of the space station Tianhe core module, a 1:4 model of the space station assembly, models of the Long March 2F, Long March 7, Long March 5B, Long March 10 launch vehicles, as well as extravehicular spacesuits, Shenzhou-14 return capsule, environmental control and life support equipment, as well as product models of future manned lunar landing vehicles such as a new generation of manned spacecraft and a lunar lander. It is worth mentioning that this exhibition specially exhibits the model of the Mengtian experimental module of the space station, the flexible solar wing, the voice processing equipment of the Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft, and the accompanying satellite of Shenzhou-7 developed by Shanghai, showing the power of Shanghai in the manned spaceflight project to the public. It is understood that the Shanghai Academy of Aerospace Technology is also responsible for participating in the development of other modules of the space station, manned spacecraft, cargo spacecraft, and Long March 5B carrier rockets and other flying products in the manned spaceflight project.
During the exhibition, a number of aerospace science popularization education activities and aerospace culture dissemination activities will be held to allow the public to further understand manned spaceflight, participate in supporting manned spaceflight, and stimulate the public, especially young people, to advocate science, explore the unknown and pursue their ideals.
