People's Daily Online, Hong Kong, December 16 (Reporter Feng Xuezhi) Under the guidance of Bauhinia Culture Group, the China National Academy of Painting and Bauhinia Magazine jointly held the Yangtze River theme art exhibition "Guarding a River and Clear Water" at the Hong Kong ** Library on the 16th.
The works exhibited in this exhibition include Fan Di'an's "Riverside Tea Garden", Zhao Wei's "Jialing River in Sichuan", Zhang Jiangzhou's "Miluo River Resentment", Ji Lianbin's "Xing", Yu Wenjiang's "Tengwang Pavilion" and He Jialin's "Songyun Gangxiu", a total of 74 works of art and calligraphy. These works are rich in themes and diverse in form, fully expressing the spiritual outlook of the people in the Yangtze River basin to pursue and create a better life.
Yan Dongsheng, director of the Art Committee of the China National Academy of Painting, introduced that under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the National Academy of Painting planned and implemented the "Yangtze River Theme Art Creation Project", mobilizing more than 160 artists from the whole academy and 11 provinces and regions along the Yangtze River to carry out sketch creation, and 130 works passed the expert review.
It is hoped that through this exhibition, the 'story of the Yangtze River' in the new era will be brought to the banks of the Xiangjiang River, so that Hong Kong compatriots can enter the new picture scroll painted by Hanmo Danqing, further understand the new face of economic and social development in the Yangtze River Basin, and promote the rapid development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt jointly promoted by Hong Kong and the mainland." Yan Dongsheng said.
The Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR**), Mr Chan Kwok-ki, said in his speech that the HKSAR** and all sectors of the community have been committed to promoting a better understanding of the national situation, national history and Chinese culture among the general public, including organising thematic exhibitions, exhibiting the country's precious cultural relics in museums, and expanding exchanges and co-operation between local and mainland artists. He stressed that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will continue to make good use of the support of the National 14th Five-Year Plan for Hong Kong, develop Hong Kong into an East-meets-West cultural and artistic exchange centre, give full play to Hong Kong's role as a platform for the integration of ancient and modern, East meets West, and serve as a bridge for cultural and artistic exchanges between the motherland and the rest of the world, promote the inheritance and development of Yangtze River culture, and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
I am very happy to be able to see such a large-scale and high-level work here. Lin Tianxing, chairman of the Hong Kong Artists Association, said that these artists used their brushes to depict the development of the Yangtze River, told the story of the Yangtze River wonderfully and movingly, and expressed their praise for the Yangtze River and the spirit of the Yangtze River.
