The American Husky is a member of the Pomeranian Silky Dog family, and there are many dog owners who prefer to classify it as a Nordic breed. American Huskies originated primarily from European Pomeranian breeds, including the White German Pomeranian Friech, the White Dutch Capuchin Dog, the White Pomeranian Dog, and the White Italian Pomeranian Friech. After World War II, breeders on the West Coast even added the bloodlines of Japanese Pomeranian dogs to their family of huskies.
In the United States in the 19th century, small white Pomeranian dogs were common in German immigrant communities, which may have originated from white German Pomeranian dogs, white Dutch curly dogs, or large white Pomeranian dogs, which moved from Europe with their owners, and when they arrived in the United States, these dogs were no longer recognized in their home countries, and they became known as American Huskies.

In the early 19th century, American Huskies were very popular in touring circuses throughout the interior of the United States, where they were used in acrobatic performances. This breed of dog is attractive to the general public because of their long, thick coat, pure white and shiny, and their movements are agile and flexible. Circus trainers love them for this, and huskies are naturally intelligent, docile and obedient, and have unmatched flexibility. These dogs, which are used for performances in the circus, help to develop the number and range of huskies.
Although the American Pomeranian changed its name to the American Husky in 1917, the exact reason for choosing the name is unknown. There is a theory that the name Huskies is a good way to associate this type of dog with the different breeds of large Nordic dogs bred by the natives of the United States, and the Huskies seem to be a miniaturization of the Huskies Husky Dog.
The standard type has a shoulder height of 38-48 cm and a weight of 11-16 kg.
