In 2023, at the 54th Paris Air Show, China presented models of the J-20 and J-35 (export model FC31). Originally, FC31 was an export fighter, and it was normal to participate in the exhibition. And the J-20's participation in the war is meaningful. So this J-20 appeared in Paris, does it announce that Chinese fighters can be exported to Europe?

First of all, European countries need to purchase new stealth fighters. In the 90s of the last century, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain in Europe jointly developed the EF2000 Eurofighter, which became a very advanced fighter at that time, equipped with the air forces of the United Kingdom and European Union countries. But today, the EF2000 Eurofighter is no longer suitable for the requirements of air combat, and compared with the American F22 and the Chinese J-20, the biggest weakness is that there is no stealth function, which is a generation behind the F22 and J-20. Therefore, Europe needs a new stealth fighter.

However, European countries are deeply influenced by the United States, they do not dare and cannot buy Chinese stealth fighters, nor can they buy Russian fighters, so they can only buy American stealth fighters, and the United States has only one F35 stealth fighter for export, so European countries will not buy J-20.

At the same time, it is also impossible for China to export the J-20 at the moment. The J-20 is the embodiment of China's most advanced aviation technology, some of which are at the forefront of the world, and there is a possibility of technology leakage when exported abroad. Therefore, China will not export the J-20 at this time.

Then this exhibition of the J-20 is more to show the world the development of China's aviation technology, and tell the world that China has been fully capable of manufacturing fighters that are superior to the F22 and attracting the world's attention. This is conducive to the export of the J-35 (export model FC31), which has a lower technical level.

The J-35 is mainly aimed at the needs of third world countries that have the purchase of stealth fighters against the F35. Especially countries like Pakistan and Iran. The J-35 can completely confront the American F35, so customers who need stealth fighters can buy the J-35, so that the strength of the Air Force can be taken to a higher level.
