Shanghai, December 9 (Xinhua) -- This year marks the fifth anniversary of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta as a national strategy. As the "first move" and breakthrough point of the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone across Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang has been listed for four years, and this weak area at the inter-provincial border in the past has gradually shown a new look of high-quality and integrated development.
Institutional innovation contains a high amount of "gold".
In the past four years, the demonstration zone has formed a total of 136 institutional innovation achievements, of which 38 have been replicated and promoted nationwide.
The "blue" map of science and technology innovation has been drawn at an accelerated pace.
Including Huawei's Qingpu R&D Center and Hengli Yangtze River Delta International New Material Industrial Base, the demonstration zone has continued to promote the construction of 145 key projects in the past four years. From 2019 to 2022, the total GDP of the two districts and one county in the demonstration zone increased from 375.5 billion yuan to 453 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 65%；The number of listed companies increased from 44 to 75, and the number of national high-tech enterprises increased from 1,560 to 2,924.
The development of "green" color has achieved remarkable results.
Including the 23-kilometer ecological shoreline project in Yuandang, the demonstration area has promoted 20 key ecological and environmental protection projects in the past four years. From 2019 to 2022, the proportion of surface water excellent sections in the demonstration area increased from 75% to 962%, and the AQI excellent rate ranged from 784% rises to 833%, and the water environment quality of key transboundary water bodies has reached or exceeded the 2025 target ahead of schedule.
The "red" benefits of people's livelihood continue to be released.
Aiming at a better life for residents in the region, the demonstration area focuses on promoting "cross-domain non-sensitive" livelihood services. In the past four years, the eight inter-provincial bus lines in the demonstration area have sent more than 3.07 million passengers. 85 designated medical institutions and 872 designated retail pharmacies have achieved direct settlement of medical insurance across provinces and regions, benefiting 2.46 million insured people.
In the next step, the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone will implement the spirit of the symposium on in-depth promotion of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and under the overall guidance of the Office of the Leading Group for Regional Coordinated Development, we will closely follow the two keys of integrated system innovation and green, low-carbon and high-quality development, and strive to achieve greater breakthroughs.
