How to determine PNP and NPN

PNP and NPN are two different types of transistors that play the role of amplifying current in a circuit. Here are a few ways to tell PNP and NPN::

1.From the structure of the transistor, the emitter and collector of PNP form two negative charge layers inside, while the emitter and collector of NPN form two positive charge layers inside.

2.In terms of current direction: the current direction of PNP is that the base flows to the emitter and collector, while the current direction of NPN is that the emitter flows to the base and collector.

3.From the perspective of voltage polarity: the voltage polarity of PNP is positive emitter, negative base and negative collector, while the voltage polarity of NPN is negative emitter, positive base and positive collector.

4.From the direction of signal transmission: the signal transmission direction of PNP is from the base to the emitter and collector, while the signal transmission direction of NPN is from the emitter to the base and collector.
