Xinhua News Agency, Rio de Janeiro, December 15 (Reporter Zhao Yan Chen Weihua) Chinese energy company State Grid Brazil once again independently participated in the bidding for the concession of the 800 kV UHV DC transmission project in Brazil's Beautiful Mountain on the 15th local time, and successfully won the bid for the 30-year concession of the project.

This is the third time that the State Grid Corporation of China has won the bid for the UHV transmission project overseas, following the first and second phases of the UHV transmission project in the beautiful mountains of Brazil. The operation of the project will be operated in the mode of investment + general contracting + operation, marking another major breakthrough in the "going out" of China's UHV technology, equipment and engineering general contracting.

It is reported that the project includes a new 1,468 km 800 kV UHV DC transmission line, converter stations and condensers at both ends and related AC supporting projects, with a rated transmission capacity of 5 million kilowatts, the project passes through Maranhão, Tocantins and Goiás, mainly for the capital Brasilia power supply, is scheduled to be put into operation in 2029.

The project will package and transport clean energy such as wind power, solar energy and hydropower from northeast and north Brazil to the load center in central Brazil, practicing the concept of green development, strongly promoting Brazil's clean and low-carbon energy transformation and serving Brazil's economic and social development.

The State Grid Corporation of China said that the successful bidding for the UHVDC transmission project in Brazil is another important achievement of the company to help promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, which will help deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Brazil and achieve mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Brazil.
