On December 26, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Oudomxay Vocational Skills Development Center project in Laos was held in Oudomxay Province, Laos. The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare of Laos Bekan, the Governor of Oudomxay Province Ben Kong, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Laos Wang Chang, and the Economic and Commercial Counsellor Zhao Wenyu attended the ceremony.
The Lao side thanked China for its valuable assistance and said that the implementation of the project reflects the enduring traditional friendship between China and Laos, and is another concrete practice of China and Laos working together to build a community with a shared future. Laos is willing to work closely with China and do its utmost to promote the implementation of the project as soon as possible, and expects the project to help improve the skills of the Lao youth labor force, promote high-quality employment, and make positive contributions to the economic and social development of Laos.
The Oudomxay Vocational Skills Development Center project is one of the "ten schools" in Laos, which is organized and managed by the Bureau of International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, and will promote China's vocational and technical education to go out through the way of "school construction + cooperative schooling", help Laos build a vocational education brand that radiates the five northern provinces, and cultivate skilled talents urgently needed for economic and social development in Laos.
