On December 15, Beijing time, the NBA regular season continued, and the Nuggets hosted the Nets. The two sides fielded a lineup of Jokic, Murray, Gordon, Porter Jr. and Holiday as well as Dinwiddie, Thomas, Johnson, Claxton and Bridges.
At the start of the first quarter, Murray scored on a driving layup, then turned and hit a back-to-back shot. Porter Jr. and Gordon also scored on layups. Johnson hit a solid three-pointer from the outside, Thomas scored on a fast-break layup, and Bridges continued to fire on fire. The Nuggets' offense remained strong, and Murray scored five straight points again. Jokic scored four easy points under the basket and dished out five assists in the quarter. Bridges hit a three-pointer and Dinwiddie scored back-to-back breakaways to close the gap. Murray made three points from the perimeter and scored five straight points. Jokic scored six straight points inside. Nuggets' Gordon took advantage of his size to score 5 points in a row under the basket with 2+1. At halftime, the Nuggets led the Nets by 13 points, 52-39.
In the second half, Jokic burst out, scoring 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting in a single quarter, and completing four assists and one steal. Porter Jr. and Strauser also followed up with two three-pointers, and Gordon added six more points under the basket to extend the lead to 28 points. The Nets' offense stalled, with Thomas shooting 0-of-3 and Bridges 0-of-3, and only Dinwiddie scoring back-to-back breakaways after a 3-pointer from the perimeter to chase the score. At the end of the third quarter, the Nuggets led the Nets by 23 points, 90-67.
In the final quarter, the Nuggets' Braun, Watson and Strauser hit back-to-back three-pointers. Sharpe scored eight points in a burst of the fourth quarter to help stop the bleeding. But the Nuggets' outside touch was still hot, with Strauser and Watson hitting three-pointers again. In the final two minutes, the suspense of the game disappeared as the Nuggets' Watson, Pickett and Nagy hit another three-pointer. In the end, the Nuggets defeated the Nets by 23 points, 124-101!
For the Nuggets, Jokic contributed a triple-double of 26 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Murray had 16 points, one rebound, two assists, three steals and one block. Gordon contributed 13 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Watson had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Reggie contributed 12 points, four assists and two steals. Braun had 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.
For the Nets, Dinwiddie had 17 points, four rebounds and eight assists. Thomas had 13 points and three rebounds. Johnson had 10 points and three rebounds. Claxton had 10 points and nine rebounds. Giles had 11 points and six rebounds.
