According to the truck driver Master Hu, that day he pulled a car of wooden planks from Jieyang, Guangdong Province to go to Zhangzhou Pinghe, when driving to the place of the incident, he suddenly felt that the left front wheel of the vehicle was running off, so he quickly slammed the steering wheel back to the right, but did not expect the goods on the car to roll directly under the action of inertia, which led to the vehicle rolling over and leaning on the guardrail. According to Master Hu's recollection, the car has not been maintained for a long time, which may be the direct cause of the accident.

After more than two hours of joint efforts by various departments, the overturned truck was righted and towed away from the scene. Due to the piles of wooden planks at the site, it became very difficult to clean up, and the road service and maintenance department immediately transferred the transfer vehicles to carry out the follow-up cleaning work. Until the evening of the same day, the scene was cleared and the road returned to normal traffic order.
