Foreword. Wen Liu Chun.

As an easel painting art that overlaps reproducible visual images and contemporary concepts, the creative practice and achievements of neo-realistic oil painting have made contributions to the development process of Chinese oil painting in the new era, which has become the consensus of the industry. However, in the context of the current era of global integration of technology and art, and the acceleration of the homogenization trend of culture and art, neo-realistic oil painting is also facing the question of where to go. The organizers invite Chinese famous oil painters to come to the coastal area to collect style and hold exhibitions, leading the development trend of local oil painting, and oil painters respond to the development of Chinese contemporary oil painting with the concentrated presentation of high-quality masterpieces, and help the development of local literature and art and aesthetic education with the humanistic care of artists.

The coastal area of the Yellow Sea is an important town for traditional calligraphy and painting, and the organizers have gone from the introspection of traditional calligraphy and painting in the region to the introduction of the new realistic oil painting exhibition outside the region, highlighting the tension of the new era of lake and sea culture.

In the context of contemporary culture, neo-realistic oil painting has become the best choice for contemporary oil painters to pay tribute to the times with the accuracy of its images and the contemporaneity of image concepts in classical tradition and modern expression.

On the one hand, neo-realistic oil painting absorbs the traditional essence of neoclassical painting, which is manifested in the extreme depiction of details, the pursuit of realism and delicacy, the picture is realistic, and the image is vivid, which fully demonstrates the powerful language function of painting technique in restoring and reproducing objectsNeo-realistic oil painting organically integrates figurative realism with contemporary concepts, and draws on and uses digital image high-tech technology in the painting process to make the content of the works more diverse, the style more personalized, the themes more diversified, and the concepts more avant-garde. With the expansion of image perspectives and the continuous updating of artistic concepts from the perspective of science and technology, oil painters will have more creative technology choices and image expressions, which provides more innovative possibilities for oil painting creation.

On the other hand, Chinese neo-realistic oil painting is forming a unique appearance with Chinese style and Chinese aesthetic spirit under the background of contemporary culture. Neo-realist oil painting not only enriches the form and content of contemporary art, but also emphasizes the in-depth observation and true representation of real life, reflects the changes and development of China's current society, and reflects the artists' deep understanding and unique insights into real social life. From the perspective of the changes in the era of cultural globalization, the impact of Western modern art on Chinese art has promoted Chinese neo-realistic oil painters to constantly explore new paths on the road of national cultural self-confidence. Accelerating the pace of integration of Chinese oil painting and international art is also the demand of the current era for Chinese culture to integrate into the world, which provides a rare historical opportunity for new realistic oil painters to dialogue with the world.

As high-tech digital image technology brings multi-dimensional perspectives to neo-realist oil paintings, shared image technology also brings the danger of "homogenization" to neo-realist oil paintings. At a time when digital screen reading has become the main way of information interaction for the whole people, the constantly updated electronic visual schema is subverting the traditional Xi of appreciating painting, which directly affects the creation of contemporary painting art. Obviously, while using digital image technology to express the concept of oil painting images, neo-realistic oil painting is also faced with the dilemma of how to balance oil painting as technology and art. In the development process of contemporary neo-realist oil painting, the issues of environment, culture and aesthetic character related to the "locality" of oil painting are still placed in front of us.

This "Haiyong New Realm, Coastal Invitation-Chinese Contemporary New Realistic Oil Painting Masters Exhibition" uses works to evaluate the current dimension of the language and concept of new realistic oil painting, and asks about the future trend of new realistic oil painting.
