In March 2023, I made a decision and bought a brand new car. Originally, I was thinking of a traditional fuel vehicle, but unexpectedly, I ended up choosing a new energy vehicle. What's even more surprising is that because the community has not yet been equipped with charging piles, this is undoubtedly a challenging choice for a new energy vehicle owner. Now, five months later, I am very happy with this decision.
Why didn't I choose a fuel vehicle, but switched to a new energy vehicle?In fact, there are three main reasons.
First of all, the country's vigorous promotion of new energy vehicles makes me deeply feel the trend of future development. It goes without saying that as ordinary people, it is an inevitable choice to keep up with the trend of the times. The fuel vehicle market is gradually withering, while the new energy vehicle market is booming, which is a trend that cannot be ignored. Just like the Nokia mobile phone back then, although it was once brilliant, it lacked future development prospects, and the country is guiding the people to choose new energy vehicles.
Secondly, new energy vehicles are exempt from purchase tax, which reduces the cost of using vehicles. In the process of purchasing new energy vehicles, the trouble of purchase tax is eliminated, and the final ** of the vehicle only includes the naked car price, insurance premiums and license fees. Compared with gasoline vehicles, the purchase tax saved is considerable. At the same time, the cost of using new energy vehicles is also lower. 0.25 yuan. Taking 20,000 kilometers per year as an example, the cost of new energy vehicles can save more than 10,000 yuan in fuel costs compared with fuel vehicles. Considering that the current ** of new energy vehicles is generally less than 100,000 yuan, it is not much different from the ** of fuel vehicles, and some models are even quite competitive.
Finally, the driving experience of new energy vehicles is far greater than that of fuel vehicles. Electrically driven new energy vehicles do not have an engine or gearbox during driving, so they are very quiet to drive without being disturbed by engine noise. The acceleration response is very fast, which is completely different from the driving experience of a gasoline car. Even some million-level fuel vehicles are not as good as electric vehicles of two or three hundred thousand yuan in terms of power response. This difference in driving experience makes me deeply satisfied with new energy vehicles.
Of course, as a new energy vehicle owner, one of the biggest worries is charging. Especially in the case that the charging pile cannot be installed in the community, how to solve this problem?
My neighborhood is a shared parking space, and the garage sold out more than a decade ago. There are two fast charging stations in the complex dedicated to charging electric vehicles, and there are also some sockets dedicated to two-wheeled electric vehicles. My model is the Haval H6 DHT-PHEV, which is a plug-in hybrid type, which belongs to the slow charging version. There was no charging facility in the community, so I developed a flexible charging plan.
Since I need to go to work every day, I choose to drive to the office to recharge. The company allows charging for employees, and I purchased a 220V, 16A plug-in version of the air conditioner with a grounding cable. I plug this plug into the company's plug-in board for charging electric vehicles, and it can charge my car normally. Although it is a slow charge, it can be fully charged in three or four hours. Charging at the company is free, which is a nice perk. According to estimates, from zero to 100%, the cost does not exceed 20 yuan. When I get home, I don't have to charge my car anymore. If I don't go to work, I drive my car to a slow charging station near my home to charge it, which is a few hundred meters to a kilometer away from my home, and I can find it by navigating.
Charging stations in the city are charged by time slot, with the most expensive being at 20:00 in the evening

My city is a small fourth- or fifth-tier city, and there are relatively many charging stations in the city. Although my car is slow charging, I can still find charging stations in the city. There are almost no queues at the charging stations outside, and you can find an empty spot every time. Maybe because we don't have many new energy vehicles here, the most popular model is Wuling Hongguang MINIEV. This car is not as good as BYD and other big brands, and most of them are slow charging, and few people choose it. In contrast, fast charging stations are more spacious and require little to no waiting.
In general, from my personal experience, even if the community cannot be equipped with charging piles, it does not have much impact on the use of new energy vehicles. Especially since I'm buying a hybrid model, even if I can't charge it occasionally, the car can still run on fuel. For the owners of pure electric models in the city, if they only drive in the city every day and occasionally travel far away, the layout of the charging pile is already quite dense, and it will not affect the normal use. The convenience of charging and the unique driving experience of new energy vehicles make me full of confidence in this car purchase decision.
