2023 is a year of great significance. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the general secretary of ** cordially replied to Professor Pei Dele of our university, which is a milestone event in the school's history. The faculty, students, staff and alumni of the university are very excited and inspired. We keep in mind the entrustment, forge ahead in unity, pioneer and innovate, and write a new answer sheet of "what is the construction of a strong country and success" with a high-spirited attitude of not waiting for me and working hard.
This year, we held high the great banner and upright and innovative in party building and ideological and political work. The party committee of the school adheres to the study and implementation of the socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as the primary political task, and carries out in-depth theme education. Adhere to the party's leadership throughout the entire process of running and governing schools, and promote the comprehensive and strict governance of the party to develop in depth. We will continue to promote the demonstration of "double creation" and "double hundred", and effectively transform the advantages of party building into practical development results. Continuously improve the pattern of ideological and political work, and ideological and political courses have been selected as national first-class courses. In the national "Most Beautiful College Counselor", "Outstanding Communist Youth League Cadre", "Vitality Youth League Branch" and other selections, there are new awards. The school was once again awarded the excellent unit of the Ministry of Education's network public opinion working mechanism in colleges and universities. 54 people from the school were elected as deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at all levels, including 6 deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a record high.
This year, we deepened the reform of education and teaching, and the quality of talent training continued to improve. Always keep in mind the "education for the party and the country", and vigorously promote the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents. 1 new teacher of the "National Special Support Program for High-level Talents" was added. He has won 1 special prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (the second completion unit), 1 first prize and 5 second prizes, and has achieved new breakthroughs in the level and number of awards. The reform of new engineering education was selected as one of the first batch of "Pioneer Cases of China's Engineering Education Reform" in China, and the school was selected as a national university for the construction of outstanding engineering colleges. Chengdian students continued to win gold and silver in various competitions, and won 6 special prizes and 4 first prizes in the national competition in the "Challenge Cup", and won the "Winning Cup"."China International College Student Innovation Competition" won 7 gold and 6 silver medals;The Graduate Innovation Practice Series Competition has won 281 national awards, and the university has been rated as an important contributor to the ten-year development of the China Graduate Innovation Practice Series Competition. The graduate rate of the class of 2023 is 7206%, an all-time high;The implementation rate of graduates is 9603%, the employment ratio of national key units is 5793%。
This year, we served the national strategic needs, and the vitality of scientific and technological innovation and social service capabilities were more prominent. We will continue to promote the optimization, reorganization and construction of scientific and technological innovation platforms, add two new national innovation platforms, and actively cultivate and establish the "Belt and Road" joint laboratory of neurotechnology and brain-machine interaction between China and Cuba. Two original achievements were published in the journal Nature. In the 19th China Young Women Scientist Award, individual and group, National Innovation Competition, Ho Leung Ho Li Award, etc., there are new gains. Focusing on the in-depth integration of industry, university and research, Shenzhen Advanced Research Institute, Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, Chongqing Research Institute, Yibin Research Institute and other strong services have supported the high-quality development of the regional economy and the national innovation system. The 10th anniversary of the establishment of the School of Medicine has made the road of cross-integration and innovation of medicine and engineering more firm and confident. Deeply participated in the construction of Western Science City and Tianfu Jiangxi Laboratory, established Sichuan UAV College, further deepened strategic cooperation with Zhangjiang, Zhongguancun, Pengcheng, Qiyuan and other national laboratories, continuously strengthened strategic cooperative relations with enterprises and institutions such as the National Institute of Standardization, Huawei, and added 20 joint scientific research platforms. Two projects have been selected as typical projects of targeted assistance in colleges and universities directly under the Ministry of Education, and have been "good" in the assessment of designated assistance work of ** units for 5 consecutive years.
This year, we insisted on the integration of education and reference, and the construction of the teaching staff has achieved remarkable results. Continuously strengthen the construction of teachers' ideological and political education and teacher ethics and style, and solidly carry out the concentrated study and education of teacher ethics. One team was selected as the third batch of Huang Danian-style teacher teams in national universitiesOne person was invited to participate in the National Outstanding Teacher Representative Symposium. Implement a series of reform measures, promote the reform of the talent development system and mechanism, accelerate the promotion of teacher classification evaluation and management, and lead teachers to produce high-level performance results and make new contributions. Actively promote the introduction of strategic scientists, and the work has been recognized and supported by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Education. There are 1 academician from developed countries, 26 national leading talents, and 76 high-level talents, and the introduction and training structure is more balanced.
This year, we strengthened strategic planning, and the level and influence of discipline construction were steadily improved. In line with the goal of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, the second round of mid-term self-evaluation of the "double first-class" construction was completed with high quality, and the goals of the first phase were generally achieved, and the expert group fully affirmed the effectiveness of the construction. Actively promote the pilot of comprehensive reform of higher education and the training of first-class disciplines, and accelerate the coordinated and integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents. In the internationally recognized evaluation system, the overall level and international influence of schools and disciplines have continued to improve, and the comprehensive advantages of the main disciplines in the field of electronic information have been further consolidated. In the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the university entered the top 150 in the world for the first time, and achieved the best ranking in history in other well-known world university rankings.
This year, we have taken the initiative to expand, and the "circle of friends" of international exchanges and cooperation has continued to grow bigger and stronger. Deepen the cooperative relationship with Olier College, University of Oxford, University of Bristol and other well-known universities, and sign student training agreements. The participation of teachers and students in international exchange and learning has picked up rapidly, and the number of long-term inter-university exchange programs has increased by nearly 60% compared with last year. Continue to optimize the structure and quality of international students, and build 1 new international high-quality student base. Glasgow College celebrates its 10th anniversary and has become an advanced model in the field of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools. On the 20th anniversary of the founding of the French Alliance and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institute in Montpellier, the work of the Confucius Institute in Montpellier has been highly praised for its work in promoting people-to-people exchanges between China and France.
This year, we focused on improving quality and efficiency, and continued to improve our management services and support capabilities. Approved by the Ministry of Education and officially issued the new version of the school's "Charter". Take multiple measures to increase revenue and reduce expenditure to ensure the development of the school's career, and promote the gradual implementation of the cost-sharing mechanism for running schools. Continue to improve the long-term mechanism of audit supervision. Standardize the management of the whole process of procurement projects, and promote the open sharing of large-scale instruments and equipment. The sixth phase of the student apartment (master's apartment), the No. 6 scientific research laboratory building, and the Chengdian International Innovation Center were put into use, the Yongning No. 1 scientific research building project was approved and constructed, the liberal arts building and the Xuanbang building group project were progressed in an orderly manner, the Qingshuihe campus library, Chengdian Hall and other venues were repaired, and the comprehensive management of the West Lake was successfully completed. High-quality completion of the Chengdu Universiade in our school activities of the guarantee task.
