Recently, the All-China Journalists Association and Ping An Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. of China jointly launched the 2023 Group Insurance Plan for Chinese War Correspondents Abroad, which aims to provide service protection for Chinese journalists stationed in foreign wars and high-risk areas to undertake reporting tasks. Each of the foreign correspondents who participated in the insurance this time will receive a life insurance with a cumulative sum insured of 1 million yuan, which is valid for one year.
According to the China Journalists Association, the foreign correspondents who participated in the insurance this time came from the People's News Agency, Xinhua News Agency, Radio and Television Station, Guangming News Agency, Economic News Agency, China News Agency, Science and Technology Agency, China News Service, etc., and they have been covering and reporting in war and high-risk areas for a long time. Ping An Group provides a special insurance plan to the China Journalists Association free of charge, providing journalists with accidental injury, accidental medical treatment, medical rescue and safety rescue insurance services, and opening a green underwriting service channel.
The Chinese Journalists Association said that for a long time, Chinese correspondents stationed abroad have risked their lives to stick to and fight on the front line of international news reporting, covering and reporting on turmoil, conflicts, disasters and emergencies around the world, restoring the truth with pen and ink and lenses, and making China's voice heard on the international stage.
Founded in March 2019, the China War Correspondents' Group Insurance Program has donated personal insurance to about 300 journalists who are stationed in war-torn and high-risk areas abroad on a long-term or short-term basis.
