Ride-hailing drivers work hard but have difficulty saving money, and their livelihood is worrying!
In order to save living expenses, Leizi, a 34-year-old online car-hailing driver, chooses to rest in the underground garage and carefully cares for his rental car, just to improve travel efficiency. Although he earns $350 a day for renting a car, he needs to work at least 15 hours. This means that Leizi only has 3 hours of rest per day.
The Shanghai Municipal Road Transport Administration Office responded that there are currently about 760,000 ride-hailing vehicles and 50,000 cruise cars have vehicle transportation certificates. And many of these drivers, like Leizi, are on the road every day, but find it difficult to save money.
Ride-hailing drivers are different from other professions, they come at a price to enter the industry, and their monthly income is just there. As soon as they open their eyes every day, their income is minus 350 yuan, and only when they make so much money, the extra money is their own. In order to make more money, drivers have to increase the amount of time they spend away from home. From the initial 12 hours to the current 15 hours, the driver's physical strength is somewhat depleted.
It is hoped that online car-hailing companies will pay attention to the survival status of drivers, provide better job security, and let drivers have a better working environment and higher remuneration.
