Fast Technology reported on December 12 that according to ** reports, a few days ago, Hyundai and Kia jointly developed a technology called "snow chain integrated tires".
For the first time, the tire adopts a shape memory alloy module, which can automatically open the snow chain when it encounters a slippery road surface by simply pressing the switch, which greatly improves the driving safety in heavy snowy weather.
It is reported that the reason why this unique tire can open the snow chain with one button is because it cleverly uses the characteristics of shape memory alloy in the energized state.
When the vehicle is driving normally, the snow chain caused by the memory alloy will be accumulated in the tire, and when the driver activates the function, the memory alloy will begin to return to its original state under the stimulation of the current, thereby increasing the grip of the vehicle and improving stability.
At present, the tire is still in the development stage, and it is not yet known when it will be put into use.
According to Joon Mo Park, the project will be the first to be installed in Hyundai and Kia vehicles, and the team will continue to develop other technologies to improve safety and convenience.
