About the winery
Aiken Wines is a boutique winery located in the Napa Valley region of California, USA.
Napa Valley (**nap**alley.).wine)
Joel Aiken founded the Eiken Winery in 2009. He grew up on a ranch in Fresno, California, and has had a keen interest in agriculture since he was 10 years old. Later, Joel attended the University of California, Davis (UC D**IS) and chose to major in biology. After completing his master's degree, he joined Beaulieu Vineyard and became the youngest winemaker in the winery's history. Over the years, he has been working on the introduction of new technologies in the cultivation of Chardonnay and has carried out projects such as Pinot Noir cloning research.
Vineyard terroir
Eiken Winery now has four vineyards: Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford, Silver Pines Vineyard in Sonoma Mountain and Oakville Ranch in Oakville Vineyard) as well as those located in Santa Nurita Hill (StaRita Hills). The soils of the Morisori vineyard are predominantly gravel, with Cabernet Sauvignon planted predominantly. The Silver Pine Vineyard has a thin soil, with occasional morning mist and cool breezes, and is mainly planted with Pinot Noir. The fruit ripens for a long time, so it is able to accumulate enough aromas and phenolics to produce a Pinot Noir with a darker colour and a complex flavour.

Fruity aromas of blackberries and gingerbread bread sprinkled with cloves, nutmeg and star anise, the wine is complex, with notes of black plum peel, blackcurrant, ripe elderberry, sage and bulb Bacchus before finishing with intense spice. ”
