Recently, Emperor Che conducted the 2023 winter test in Mohe, and one of the results of the "Night Snow ACC Competition" sparked heated discussions.
As the name suggests, the night snow ACC test is to place a static fake car in the middle of the road, and the vehicle turns on the adaptive cruise control system and automatic emergency braking function to see if the vehicle can complete the braking. In winter, snow and ice accidents are common, and AEB provides an additional safety backup for human drivers, so this test is extremely relevant.
It should be noted that the test is carried out in the snow, the braking distance will be greatly extended, and the light conditions at night are not good, which will interfere with the vehicle camera recognition, coupled with the impact of snow, the test is very difficult. The test is not only the AEB emergency braking ability, but also the comprehensive consideration of the intelligent assisted driving ability.
Therefore, in the first test, only 17 of the 51 cars that participated in the test passed the test, including Wenjie M5, M7, AVATR 11, Ideal L7, L9, Xiaopeng G6, Haobo GT and other independent models passed the test, while BMW i3, VOYAH FREE, Wei brand Alpine, Mercedes-Benz EQE, Toyota BZ3 and other models were passed at the first level. The pass rate is only one-third.
In the subsequent second level test, coupled with the backlight factor, the difficulty was upgraded, and the remaining 17 cars only had a 50% pass rate, and models such as Baojun Yueye, Haobo GT, and Mengshi 917, and even modely, which was very strong in intelligent driving, fell in the second level.
To the third level, the difficulty escalated again, for the "night backlight snow ACC static fake car recognition test", from the scene **, after the snow, the naked eye can hardly see the road conditions, the test speed has also dropped to 40km h, the difficulty is more than doubled, in the end, only four cars passed, namely Yangwang U8, Denza N7, Weilai ET7, AVATR 11, and these four cars in the Denza N7 and Yangwang U8 two BYD series models are both in the list, becoming the biggest winner.
And users who have watched the third level know that the performance of Yangwang U8 and Denza N7 in these three levels has been very stable. Especially looking up at the U8, in the first level, it was recognized and braked when it was far away from the fake car, and finally it stopped about 12 meters away from the fake car, ahead of other models.
This result is obviously unexpected, in consumer cognition, it seems that only the new power models that have been pursuing intelligence have a high level of intelligent driving, and BYD's intelligent driving system is still in the second echelon, but the test results are the opposite, many new power models are not as good as before, but BYD has achieved a big counterattack, can't help but be amazed, when is BYD's intelligent driving system so strong?Has it been underestimated?
I have to say that looking up at the performance of U8 and Denza N7 is the embodiment of BYD's intelligent driving level. The reason is that BYD is too low-key. Many people don't know that the current BYD R&D team alone has reached 90,000 people, of which the team focusing on intelligent R&D has more than 2,000 people, which is currently the largest number of domestic car companies in this field, which just shows that BYD's pursuit of core technology is consistent.
It's just that BYD doesn't have much publicity about this, an ACC winter test, a glimpse of the whole leopard, and a big surprise to everyone as soon as it is released. In the future, I don't know if BYD will continue to hold back its big moves in intelligence, and the follow-up performance is worth looking forward to.
It is reported that DENZA N7 is currently carrying out high-speed NOA tests, bravely entering Chongqing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and other cities, easily challenging the devil's interchanges and complex road conditions in various places, facing the most common scenarios in life such as large curvature curves, following cars, changing lanes, and adding stops, DENZA N7 is able to cope with it freely, and the intelligent driving experience is well received by users and users. The high-speed NOA program after the relevant testing will also be launched in the near future. I believe that in the near future, BYD's intelligence will bring us more surprises.
