Black guinea pig breeding method
1. Breeding cages.
Cage standards: Black guinea pigs are highly mobile and need to be provided with enough space to move. Therefore, the size of the breeding cage should be moderate, generally 10-15 square meters is appropriate. Black guinea pig food utensils, resting places and appropriate exercise grounds should be set up in the cage to meet their basic living needs.
Cage structure: The structure of the cage should be firm to prevent black guinea pigs from escaping. Eating utensils and bedpans should be set up in the cage to facilitate cleaning and hygiene.
2. Feed feeding.
Feed selection: The feed of black guinea pigs should be based on hay with an appropriate amount of concentrate, such as corn, wheat bran, soybean meal, etc. At the same time, the right amount of fresh vegetables and fruits needs to be provided to meet their nutritional needs.
Feeding method: Feed once a day in the morning and evening to ensure the freshness and nutrition of the feed. When changing the feed, it should be transitioned gradually to avoid sudden changes that cause indigestion in black guinea pigs.
3. Daily management.
Sanitation Cleaning: Clean the cage regularly every day to keep it dry and clean. Change utensils and bedpans regularly to prevent the growth of bacteria.
Disease prevention and control: Regularly check the health status of black guinea pigs, and deal with abnormalities in time. At the same time, regular deworming and immunization should be carried out to prevent the occurrence of diseases.
Temperature control: Black guinea pigs are suitable for living in an environment of 20-30 years, and the temperature in the cage should be kept stable to avoid overcooling or overheating affecting their growth and reproduction.
Light control: The right amount of light is good for the growth and reproduction of black guinea pigs. Therefore, the cage should be kept with the right amount of natural or artificial light.
Avoid startling: Black guinea pigs are timid and frightened, and should try to avoid sudden startling stimuli so as not to affect their growth and reproduction.
Fourth, breeding technology.
Breeding age: The breeding age of black guinea pigs generally starts from 3-4 months, but the optimal breeding age is 6-8 months. Premature reproduction can affect the growth and reproductive ability of black guinea pigs.
Breeding environment: Provide a quiet, dry and clean breeding environment for black guinea pigs in the cage to ensure suitable temperature and light.
Breeding method: Male and female black guinea pigs are mated according to the ratio of 1:2, placed in the same cage, and let them mate freely. In general, female black guinea pigs can give birth about a week after successful mating.
Farrowing care: Female black guinea pigs should be given more care after giving birth to ensure the warmth and nutrition of the baby black guinea pigs. At the same time, the quality and quantity of milk from female black guinea pigs should be checked regularly to ensure the healthy growth of young black guinea pigs.
Weaning littering: When the baby black guinea pig grows to a certain weight (generally about 20 days), it should be weaned and separated. The baby black guinea pigs were placed in new cages to avoid breed degradation due to inbreeding.
Male and female renewal: In order to maintain the good quality of black guinea pigs and improve their reproductive ability, male and female regeneration should be carried out regularly. Generally, the male and female are changed every two years.
