Mondo History Updated on 2024-01-28

In 643 A.D., the seventeenth year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty, on February 28, Li Shimin, Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, ordered people to draw the portraits of 24 heroes according to the size of life, and stood in the Lingyan Pavilion.

The twenty-four digits are:

Sun Wuji, the prince of Zhao, Li Xiaogong, the king of Hejian, Du Ruhui, the prince of Lai Guocheng, Wei Zheng, the prince of Zheng Guowenzhen, the prince of Liang Guofang, the prince of Shen Guo, Gao Shilian, the prince of Eguo, Chi Jingde, the prince of Weiguo, Li Jing, the prince of Song, Xiao Yu, the prince of Baozhongzhuang, Duan Zhixuan, the prince of Kui, Liu Hongji, the prince of Jiang Zhong, Qu Tutong, the prince of Yunjie, Yin Kaishan, the prince of Xiangxiang, Chai Shao, the prince of Pixiang, Sun Shunde, the prince of Yun, Zhang Liang, the prince of Luguo, Junji, the prince of Tanxiang, Zhang Gongjin, the prince of Lu, the prince of Lu, the prince of Yongxing, Yu Shinan, the prince of Yuxiang, Liu Zhenghui, the prince of Ju, Tang Jian, the prince of the British Dynasty, Qin Qiong, the protector of the country.

There are many articles on the Internet about these heroes, so I won't repeat them here. Today, let's talk about the different endings of the descendants of these heroes!

Due to the large number of people, I will pick a few representative ones.

In 659 A.D., in the fourth year of Gaozong's Xianqing, the Zhongshu ordered Xu Jingzong to report to Gaozong Li Zhi, and the eldest grandson Wuji colluded with the supervision of the imperial history Li Chao with the intention of rebellion.

Li Zhi ordered Xu Jingzong to investigate thoroughly.

Xu Jingzong hopes to take coercive measures against the eldest grandson Wuji, on the grounds that the signs of the eldest grandson Wuji's rebellion have appeared, and once he knows that the matter is exposed, he will come to a dead end and rebel in advance.

Li Zhi is a little unbearable, how can I bear to convict my uncle, what will the world think of me?

Xu Jingzong knew that the emperor was not unbearable, but needed a reason to block the mouths of the world. gave the example of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty killing his uncle Bo Zhao, and the world thought it was the master.

After listening to this, Li Zhi felt that it made sense.

So, he didn't even give a chance to defend himself, so he ordered the eldest grandson Wuji to be stripped of his official position and sent to Qianzhou.

The son of the eldest grandson Wuji, the eldest grandson Chong, was also dismissed and exiled to Lingnan.

Du Ruhui is a famous minister of the Taizong Dynasty, and he has worked hard, and Tang Taizong married his daughter Princess Chengyang to his son Du He.

In 630 AD, in the fourth year of Taizong's Zhenguan, Du Ruhui became seriously ill. Taizong was very worried about Du Ruhui's condition and sent the imperial doctor to treat him many times.

Du Ruhui died of illness at the age of 46. Taizong cried so much that he couldn't deal with the government for three days.

After Du Ruhui's death, in order to commemorate him, Taizong ordered the calligrapher Yu Shinan to make an inscription for him.

Du Ruhui passed away for a year, Taizong missed it very much, and on the day of his death, he sent ** to the Du family to condole, and the reward to the Du family was the same as before.

In addition, he also named his son Du He as the county prince.

In 643 AD, in the seventeenth year of Taizong Zhenguan, Du He participated in the rebellion of the crown prince Li Chengqian. After the defeat, Du He, Hou Junji, Li Anyan and others were all beheaded for the crime of treason.

His brother Du Wei was implicated, dismissed from office, exiled to Lingnan, and later died there.

Zheng Guogong Wei Zheng, a well-known minister, Tang Taizong said that he was a mirror of himself, Zhenguan died in the seventeenth year at the age of 64.

Soon after, the crown prince Li Chengqian's conspiracy against him occurred.

Hou Junji participated in it and was executed, and Du Zhenglun, the Chinese scholar, was implicated and demoted.

Wei Zheng once said that the two had the talent of prime ministers, and recommended them to Taizong, so naturally they could not escape the suspicion of forming a party for personal gain.

Wei Zheng compiled his admonitions into a book before his death, and when Taizong knew about it, he became more and more dissatisfied.

When the two things came together, Taizong lost his trust in Wei Zheng. So he canceled the marriage contract between Princess Hengshan and Wei Zheng's son Wei Shuyu, and ordered Wei Zheng's tombstone to be torn down.

Two years later, Li Shimin personally conquered Goryeo and won a crushing victory. After returning to the teacher, he sighed with emotion, if Wei Zheng was still alive, he would definitely dissuade me.

Probably realizing his mistake, Taizong ordered to reward Wei Zheng's family and help Wei Zheng erect a tombstone again.

Wei Zheng had four sons, Shuyu, Shuwan, Shuxuan, and Shuyu.

Shuyu is the Guanglu Shaoqing, and Shuxuan is the waiter of the Ministry of Rites. When the two were in Wu Zetian, they were killed by cool officials.

Shu Yuguan to Yuzhou Thorn History, is a master of calligraphy, good cursive and official calligraphy. "There are Yu and Chu in the front, and Xue and Wei in the back" is what he said.

Liang Guogong Fang Xuanling assisted Taizong for more than 20 years, and Taizong married Princess Gaoyang to his son Fang Yiai.

In 648 AD, in the twenty-second year of Taizong's Zhenguan, Fang Xuanling was seriously ill, and Taizong sent a royal doctor to treat him, and he also visited in person.

When he was dying, Fang Xuanling was still admonishing Taizong, asking Taizong to put the common people in the world first and stop conquering Goryeo.

Taizong was very moved when he saw the watch, and said to the people around him that this person was critically ill and dying, and it was really rare to be able to worry about the country and the people.

On July 24, Fang Xuanling passed away at the age of 70.

Taizong stopped the court for him for three days, posthumously presented Taiwei, and accompanied the burial of Zhaoling. His son Fang Yiai was named the right guard Zhonglang General, and Fang Yi was named Zhongsan Doctor.

In 652 AD, in the third year of Gaozong Yonghui, Fang Yiai rebelled against Princess Gaoyang.

Fang Yiai was executed, the princess committed suicide, and Fang Yizhi was also implicated and demoted to Tongling Lieutenant. Fang Xuanling deserved the treatment of the Taimiao, and then it was stopped.

Chi Jingde, the Duke of Hubei, was the founding general of the country, and was given the name Chi Gong, who followed Taizong to pacify Wang Shichong, Dou Jiande, and Liu Heimin, and was quite meritorious.

Wei Chi Jingde is very proud and always likes to expose other people's shortcomings, so he offended many people, and some people accused him of rebellion.

Taizong privately called Wei Chi Jingde and asked him why he rebelled

Wei Chi Jingde said angrily, the minister ** wants to rebel!

Then he took off his shirt, revealing scars all over his body, and said to Taizong, the minister followed you to fight in all directions, and all he left on his body were traces of blades and arrows.

If you are stable today, you will begin to suspect that the minister is going to rebel?

Taizong said very movingly, put on your clothes quickly, I don't doubt you at all, so I will call you here in private.

In 658 AD, in the third year of Gaozong's reign, Wei Chi Jingde died at the age of 74.

He had three sons, and the eldest son, Wei Chi Baolin, was awarded the title of Duke of E, and the official was Wei Weiqing, and died in office.

In 640 AD, in the fourteenth year of Taizong Zhenguan, Li Jing's wife died.

In recognition of Li Jing's special merits, Taizong ordered his tomb to be built in the shape of the Iron Mountain in the Turkic territory and the Jishi Mountain in the Tuyuhun territory according to the old practice of Wei Qing and Huo Qubing in the Han Dynasty.

Taizong was ready to conquer Goryeo in person, and asked Li Jing, you conquered Wuhui in the south, swept away the Turks in the north, and settled Tuyuhun in the west, only Goryeo in the east has not fought, do you want to go with me?

Li Jing, who is over seventy years old, dragged his sick body to express his willingness to work. Taizong looked at the old and frail Li Jing, and after thinking about it, he didn't agree.

In the twenty-third year of Zhenguan (649), Li Jing's condition deteriorated, and Taizong came to the sickbed to offer condolences.

When I saw Li Jing, who was critically ill, I burst into tears and said to Li Jing very sadly, you are my old man, you have contributed to the country, and I am worried about your health.

Li Jing was very moved.

On May 18 of the same year, Li Jing died at the age of 79. Taizong issued an edict, posthumously named Situ, and the governor of the state, and was buried in Zhaoling, nicknamed "Jingwu".

Li Jing had two sons, and the eldest son, Li Dejian, was sentenced to exile in Lingnan because of the conspiracy of the crown prince Li Chengqian. Taizong remembered Li Jing's merits, and the special edict was changed to Wu County.

After Li Jing's death, Li Dejian inherited the title of Duke of Weiguo.

The second son, Li De Award, has not been recorded too much in history.

In 643 AD, in the seventeenth year of Taizong's Zhenguan, the crown prince Li Chengqian lost his favor and was worried about being deposed, so Hou Junji persuaded him to rebel.

After the two planned, Hou Junji was uneasy and often couldn't sleep at night.

The wife was very strange and said to Hou Junji, if you have done something sorry for the country, you should go to the emperor to confess the guilt, so that you can protect yourself.

Hou Junji did not listen to his wife.

Later, Li Chengqian's rebellion was revealed, and Hou Junji was also arrested.

Taizong felt that Hou Junji had made great contributions and did not want to punish him for capital crimes, but the ministers refused. Taizong was very sad and ordered Hou Junji to be executed.

Before the execution, Taizong asked Hou Junji if he had any last wordsHou Junji begged to keep a son for him.

Taizong agreed, and issued an order to pardon Hou Junji's wife and son, and exile them to Lingnan.

Lu Guogong bit gold, participated in the Xuanwumen Change, and was a famous lucky general in the Tang Dynasty.

In 619 AD, in the second year of Tang Wude, Wang Shichong attacked Guzhou and appointed Qin Qiong as the general of Long Xiang and Cheng Yanjin as the general.

After receiving the reward, Cheng Yanjin was not happy, he felt that Wang Shichong was narrow-minded, not a monarch who set things right, and was not worth following for a long time.

informed Qin Qiong of his thoughts, and Qin Qiong agreed.

Wang Shichong fought with the Tang army in Jiuqu, and Qin Qiong and Cheng Yanjin felt that the Tang army was reliable, so they made an appointment to join the Tang army together.

So, the two of them said goodbye to Wang Shichong in front of the battle, and they said to Wang Shichong:

We have received special preferential treatment from you, and we always want to repay the favor and serve, but your suspicious temperament and love of slander are not our place to support ourselves. Now that I can no longer serve you, let's part here. ”

After speaking, he took dozens of subordinates to surrender to Tang together, Wang Shichong was afraid of the Tang army and did not dare to pursue.

Cheng Yaojin died on February 7, the second year of Gaozong Linde (665), at the age of 77. Gaozong Li issued an edict posthumously to the hussar general and the governor of Yizhou, and was buried in Zhaoling.

He had six sons, the eldest son inherited the title of Duke of Lu, the second son married Princess Qinghe, the daughter of Taizong, and was named the founding prince of Dong'a County, and the third son was named the founding prince of Guangping County.

The three concubines also served in the court, and they were not outstanding.

Among the descendants of the 24 heroes of Lingyan Pavilion, none of them can surpass the achievements of their ancestors. On the contrary, several of them lost the glory of their ancestors because of rebellion.

The reason for this is not necessarily that the ability of the descendants is not as good as that of the ancestors, but that the era in which they live may be different.

Since ancient times, there has been "the times make heroes", but it is difficult to have "heroes make the times".

Heroes are the product of the "current situation" and are produced in accordance with the "current situation". If the "current situation" does not need heroes, there will be no so-called "heroes".

Therefore, it is important to learn to go with the flow.
