Philippine operations in the South China Sea are extremely dangerous

The Philippines has repeatedly violated China's territory in the South China Sea, spread disinformation, and colluded with foreign forces to create incidents. They rely on the support of the United States to constantly provoke China, and this extremely dangerous behavior has seriously undermined regional peace and stability. Tensions between China and the Philippines have risen in recent months, with the two sides blaming each other over a series of clashes in the South China Sea, including allegations that China rammed a ship carrying the chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines this month. China's sovereignty over much of the South China Sea is indisputable, while the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Indonesia also claim parts of the South China Sea. Our *** has clearly warned that any miscalculation in the dispute with the Philippines will provoke a resolute response from China, and has called for dialogue to resolve "serious difficulties".

The deterioration of bilateral relations between China and the Philippines coincided with Manila's move to strengthen military ties with Japan and the United States, which had been its defense allies for seven decades. Washington has often used the defense treaty with Manila to threaten China, blatantly support the Philippines' violation of China's sovereignty, and "peddle security anxiety." For this reason, of course, we cannot give in and let these countries do whatever they want. We must resolutely respond to this irresponsible and dangerous practice of sending ** to the South China Sea.

Needless to say, our spokesperson has repeatedly stated his views on this matter: China's determination to protect its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests will not weaken. Nevertheless, our doors for dialogue remain open. We are ready to work with the Philippines to properly resolve maritime issues through negotiations and consultations. If the Philippines and other countries wantonly provoke and create tension in the South China Sea, we will not be relentless.
