In addition to the capital Beijing, other provincial-level administrative regions have an armed police frontier corps (public security frontier corps), which is a division-level unit, but the provincial armed police frontier corps in individual key areas, two military and political chiefs are highly equipped with deputy military major generals. All provincial-level administrative regions in the country have an armed police fire brigade (public security fire brigade), all of which are established at the division level.
In the provincial-level administrative regions with high forest coverage, there are 9 armed police forest corps, including Sichuan, Xinjiang, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Fujian, Gansu and Jilin, and these provincial-level armed police forest corps are all at the division level. The three hydropower corps under the jurisdiction of the Armed Police Hydropower Command and the three ** corps under the jurisdiction of the Armed Police ** Command are all division-level corps.
Although there are many headquarters of the armed police force, only 32 provincial-level internal security corps (including the headquarters of the armed police corps) and 3 armed police traffic corps are really under the jurisdiction of the armed police force. The rest of the corps are under the management of the corresponding ** department, but they are only included in the armed police sequence. Included in the Armed Police Frontier Corps and the Armed Police Fire Corps, both of which are managed by the public security organs, have little to do with the Armed Police Force, but they wear armed police ** and armed police ranks.
In 2018, the armed police force carried out a deep reform, except for the two police types of internal security and transportation, the rest of the police were all withdrawn from the armed police sequence and restructured into different units and departments. For example, the armed police fire brigade was restructured into a comprehensive fire rescue team, and the armed police forest force was restructured into a forest fire brigade, both of which are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Emergency Management.
In addition to a few who withdrew, there was also one who joined, that is, the coast guard, which was transferred from the State Oceanic Administration to the armed police force, and established a regular army-level armed police coast guard corps, also known as the China Coast Guard, which is "one unit, two brands".
The traffic units that remained in the armed police sequence, together with the original 14 armed police mobile divisions, were combined into two mobile corps, the armed police.
