After the Anshi Rebellion, the Tang Dynasty in the Kaiyuan and Tianbao years gradually declined. The glory of singing and dancing in the past and the coming of all countries has made many literati and writers inexhaustible. The majesty of the Tang Dynasty and the civilized bearing of the tolerant Haichuan still attracted the countries of the Western Regions until Tang Xuanzong ascended the throne. Many restaurants and workshops have a popular music called "Bodhisattva Man". How did this Datang Jiaofang song become popular?
Regarding the ** of "Bodhisattva Man", there is a version that says that this is related to the tribute of the female barbarian. In the early years of Dazhong, that is, not long after Tang Xuanzong Li Chen ascended the throne, the female barbarian kingdom came to pay tribute. The female barbarians are dressed very gorgeously, and the "Du Yang Miscellaneous Edition" records: "Its people have a golden crown and a beautiful body, so they are called the Bodhisattva." "It turns out that the Bodhisattva is a name for a beautiful woman.
Presumably, the appearance of the female barbarian woman amazed the world at that time, so some singing and dancing artists from professional classes created the music "Bodhisattva Barbarian". This piece of music soon became popular in the Tang Dynasty, and many restaurants and workshops introduced Bodhisattva barbarian music, accompanied by singing and dancing.
This tune also became popular among princes and nobles, and there was also a super fan, that is, Tang Xuanzong Li Chen.
"Northern Dream Trivia" records: Tang Xuanzong loves to sing the words of "Bodhisattva Barbarian", which made Wen Tingyun newly written by the fox. Tang Xuanzong loved to sing this tune, and the prime minister at the time, Ling Huxuan, asked Wen Tingyun, a talented man who was proficient in music and rhythm, to write new lyrics and dedicate them to Tang Xuanzong.
This emperor who loved the Bodhisattva, his ascension to the throne was as full of legends as the Bodhisattva's appearance in China.
Li Chen, whose real name is Li Yi, was born in the Daming Palace in Chang'an, the imperial capital, and is the thirteenth prince of Tang Xianzong. In the first year of Changqing of Tang Muzong, in March 821 AD, Li Yi, who was more than ten years old, was named the King of Light.
It is said that Li Yi is a quiet and serious person, and among the children of the royal family, many people think that King Guangkong has a prince, but he is not smart at all, and even a little stupid.
This unpopular prince suffered a serious illness when he was more than ten years old and was almost dying. When the imperial doctors in the palace felt that there was no way to return to heaven, a ball of divine light suddenly appeared and shone on his body.
Under the protection of the divine light, the little prince suddenly jumped up, straightened his body, and bowed his hands, just like treating civil and military officials. His nurse thought the child was ill. But after Tang Muzong visited, he stroked Li Yi's back and said, "This child is a wise person in my family, this is not a heart disease." ”
Mu Zong then ordered to give Li Yi a lot of treasures, including jade ruyi, royal horses, gold belts, etc., and also arranged for Guo Wei, the cousin of Empress Dowager Guo, to serve as Li Yi's master.
The little prince often had strange dreams. For example, in a dream that you are flying into the sky on a dragon. After waking up from the dream, Li Yi told her mother Zheng about the dream. Zheng told his son: "Don't let others know about this dream, I hope you won't say it again in the future." ”
The Taihe and Huichang dynasties were unstable, and the emperor was not extended, so Li Yi was obscure, and when he was with everyone, he didn't say anything. In order to let him say more, even his imperial nephews Tang Wenzong and Tang Wuzong called him Uncle Guang during the banquet and gathering, and forced him to speak, taking pleasure in his naïve attitude. In particular, Tang Wuzong, who disrespected Buddhism, looked down on this wooden imperial uncle, and treated him very politely, and even threw him into a pit to tease him once.
In the sixth year of Huichang, on March 21, 846 AD, Tang Wuzong was critically ill in the prime of life because he initiated the destruction of Buddhism. The eunuch Ma Yuanzhen and others thought that the easiest person to control among these royal families was the stupid and stupid King of Light Li Yi, so they made him the imperial uncle and renamed him Li Chen.
After Li Chen was imprisoned, he received his subordinates with a sad face, calmly decided the affairs of the court, humbly accepted advice, rectified the court, and used capable and resolute means. Only then did everyone realize that the King of Light had been through hardships for a long time, and he knew the sufferings of the world, and his hidden virtue was extraordinary, and his previous performance was just an illusion, and he couldn't bear it.
After the death of Tang Wuzong, Li Chen ascended the throne as the emperor, for Tang Xuanzong, also known as Xiao Taizong by later generations, and was a generation of heroes in the late Tang Dynasty. Tang Xuanzong is like the last star of the Tang Dynasty, illuminating another highlight moment before the end of the empire. He abolished Wuzong's edict to destroy the Buddha, and since then, the melodious Sanskrit sound of the morning bell and dusk drums has been restored in the territory of the Tang Dynasty, and the Sanskrit drum music has also sounded in the imperial palace of the imperial capital, including the famous "Bodhisattva Man".
When the tune of "Bodhisattva Man" sounds, the dancers dance to the music of the Buddha in the palace. Sanskrit sound is faint, tactful and melodious. That dance was really brilliant and colorful. The dancing girl is draped in a chain of pearls, a wreath of flowers hangs around her neck, and her long hair is tied high with a golden crownThe costume is like a goddess in a secular portrait, dancing to the music, and it is colorful. Such a grand occasion is not unprecedented in Datang, but it is also unprecedented.
With the support of super fan Tang Xuanzong, the literati combined the tune of the Bodhisattva Man, wrote new lyrics, and quickly sang it among the people. By the end of the Tang Dynasty and the Fifth Dynasty, "Bodhisattva Man" had evolved into the most popular name for the word card.
