The New Year is coming soon, and if you go back to your hometown and see these "rich people" far away, they are all pretended
As the saying goes: when a crowd gathers, there must be rivers and lakes. Even if you go home for the Chinese New Year, the countryside is no exception. Compared with the city, although the area of the countryside is small, everyone knows each other. Even though they live on the same land, there seems to be an indescribable connection between people. Every time the New Year is approaching, the comparison of open and secret battles is quietly unfolding in the countryside. The luxury of the house, the salary level of the children, the marriage status of the girl, the bride price of the young man, and even whether to buy a new car and whether the business is thriving, these have become the focus of everyone's comparison.
There seems to be no secret to life in the countryside, and once you return to your hometown, within a few moments, a series of relatives such as the seventh aunt, the eighth aunt, the third uncle, the fourth aunt, and the second uncle will spread these family affairs throughout the village. So, those who like to maintain face started their "rich show-off plan", and when they returned to the village, they launched a crazy show-off contest.
However, when the New Year is about to be ushered in, you might as well stay away from these so-called "rich people", because it is likely to be just a gorgeous show. In my hometown, if you meet those overly ostentatious "rich people", you should probably keep some distance from them, because this may just be a flashy dress-up.
The first category is counterfeit brand names covered with big logos.
Young people working in big cities, whether white-collar or blue-collar, often struggle with their monthly salaries to meet the dual pressures of renting and daily life, and often struggle to make ends meet. Over the course of the year, the savings accumulated are limited. However, when returning home for the Spring Festival, in order to save face, many people will buy some counterfeit brand-name clothing, whether it is clothes or bags, they will choose iconic logos, for fear that others will not recognize them. Some are even too flamboyant in collocation, just to appear rich in front of others. Truly powerful people are usually low-key and steady, know how not to flaunt their wealth, and their personal tastes are less inclined to wear iconic clothes. Such people not only do not seek to be prominent in front of everyone, but they are even worried that once they show their wealth, the people of the village will come to borrow money, making it difficult for them to refuse.
The second category is those who show off their wealth by driving luxury cars when they return home.
In recent years, with the improvement of the economic level, the vanity of young people has gradually risen. Especially during the Chinese New Year, many young people have chosen to show their social status and wealth by renting luxury cars. They want to show their success by driving home in a luxury car. This behavior has become a means of competition among young people, and many believe that only by renting a luxury car can they maintain enough "face" in their hometown.
The younger generation often takes pride in going home and driving a luxury car, but ignores that the vanity that comes with a luxury car is only short-lived. While this may be a momentary satisfaction for them and their families, it can be quite embarrassing when it comes to vehicle performance, car purchase costs, annual insurance costs, fuel consumption, and other issues.
In stark contrast to this is the real middle class, who are more inclined to choose to fly home or take the high-speed train. Because a year's work has exhausted them, it is even more of a burden to drive home by themselves. Therefore, airplanes and high-speed rail have become more comfortable options for them. As for the boss-level person, they will not drive home in person, and may have an exclusive driver to drive the car to the door of the house, or directly take their parents and siblings to the big city for the New Year.
The third category is the flaunting of technology products in fashion trends.
When I went home for the Chinese New Year, my circle of friends was full of smiling faces, showing off the most ** mobile phones, clothes and shoes that looked rich. You may be wondering, how do they do it?
The answer is just two words – staging. In pursuit of the trend, they did not hesitate to opt for credit card installments. Even if they don't have the financial resources to support it for the time being, they can still have the latest mobile phones and electronic devices. In their opinion, buying a phone in installments doesn't mind paying extra, it's all worth it as long as you show your uniqueness in your social circle.
However, when it comes to substantive issues such as work, they are often at a loss for words. Because their consumption levels do not match their incomes, they are full of anxiety and fear of suspicion, but they have to grudge to maintain the illusion. In times like these, such a way of life is extremely tiring.
Although we often say that young people always like to pretend to be rich when they come home, they may not care when they learn the truth. However, when you think about it, it's not that much of a problem. Behind the struggle and hard work of young people outside, there is often a commitment, a commitment to make their relatives proud of themselves. When I return home, I choose to pretend to be rich because of a kind of hiding from the pressures and difficulties of life. They don't want their parents to worry, and they don't want their parents to be bothered by the outside world's fingers. This is to maintain a good image in front of elders and relatives and friends.
However, even if the rich character is fictional, the warmth and emotion that comes from returning home for the New Year to reunite with family is real. Returning to that familiar and warm place, I felt the sincerity of my family's smiles, looked back on the past, and also felt the growth and changes over the past year.
Going home for the New Year and dressing up and going home with a new look is not only a respect for yourself, but also for your parents. In many cases, this is an understandable option. However, be sure to do what you can, don't take on half a year's debt just because you go home once, and don't sacrifice your financial situation for the sake of face.
