In the 2023-2024 overseas university admission season, the International Department of Beijing Bayi School benefited from the Green Channel Program of the University of Toronto, Canada, and received a wave of offers. A total of 12 students applied for the examination, and 6 students were successfully admitted, with an acceptance rate of 50%. This achievement is an affirmation of the hard work of the students, and it is also a high recognition of the educational philosophy and teaching quality of the International Department of Bayi School.
In the past three years, the students of the International Division of Beijing Bayi School have maintained an admission rate of 50% or above in the process of applying to the University of Toronto. Behind this achievement, it reflects the respect and assistance of the International Department for the individualized growth of each student. Unlike traditional international students, who are mostly keen on popular majors such as science and engineering, computer science, etc., the students who applied for this admission have applied for a wide range of majors, covering life sciences, visual arts and arts management, social sciences and humanities and other fields. The International Division encourages students to practice boldly in the fields of humanistic literacy, humanistic feelings, and artistic innovation, and to practice and achieve their own dreams.
In order to help students better plan their pathways, the University Counselors of the International Division will provide personalized advice based on each student's interests and strengths. They advised students to make full use of the unique advantages of Canadian education and boldly try to apply for co-op paid Xi programs during the progression process. In this way, students can grow in practice, deepen their favorite subject areas, and achieve a combination of theory and practice. Four of the six students admitted this time successfully received the opportunity to co-op paid Xi program. The admission difficulty of the paid Xi program is much higher than the general admission standard of the regular program, which fully reflects the strength and competitiveness of the students of the International Division.
It is worth mentioning that one of the admitted students successfully won a scholarship from the University of Toronto, which is the first time that Bayi International students have received an admission scholarship of up to 10,000 Canadian dollars. At the same time, the University of Toronto offers very few scholarships compared to other schools. In the past few years, the University of Toronto has never awarded such a high scholarship to students at the admission stage. The "generosity" is not only a high recognition of the students' personal ability, but also a strong praise for the quality of education in the International Department of Bayi School.
In short, the International Department of Beijing Bayi School has always adhered to the concept of personalized and diversified education in terms of college guidance, and is committed to helping each student find the most suitable path for their own further education. In the future, we believe that our students will achieve more excellent results, win glory for the school, and work hard for their dreams.
University of Toronto Green Channel Project
The Green Channel Program is one of the admissions channels for the University of Toronto, which is open to 40 of China's best partner high schools, such as the No. 2 High School of China Normal University in Shanghai, the Experimental High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University, and Hangzhou No. 2 Middle School. In September of each year (the third year of high school), students who are interested in applying submit high school grades and other materials to the admissions office, and apply to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus in the form of independent admissions examinations. As one of the three campuses of the University of Toronto, the Scarborough campus not only opens all majors for applicants to choose voluntarily, but also provides co-op paid Xi opportunities to provide students with more opportunities and resources for employment and immigration applications after graduation. All roads lead to Rome, and the opening of the green channel provides an overtaking curve for students from partner schools to enter the world's top universities, increasing the possibility of quickly entering the academic circle of prestigious universities.
