On December 27, it was reported that recently, the luxury car manufacturing giant Ferrari announced the launch of an extremely rare special edition model - 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano. Not only is this car a tribute to the brand's legacy, but also a unique memento, produced in a limited edition of five units, designed to celebrate the Ferrari F1 Team's glorious victory in the 2004 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Looking back at the exciting race of 2004, Schumacher and Barrichello teamed up in the F2004 car to dominate the Hungarian circuit and take first and second place. Not only did this earn Scuderia Ferrari the World Championship title for the sixth year in a row, but F2004 became one of the most successful cars in Ferrari's history, winning 15 races and finishing on the podium 30 times in 20 races.
To commemorate the occasion, Ferrari presents the 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano in the same three-layer metallic F1 colour scheme as the F2004 car, with the noble Bianco King white accents creating a visual impact and aesthetic. All parts of the body, including the front bumper, roof, side skirts and rear end, have been meticulously incorporated with these exclusive decorative elements.
According to ITBEAR, the vehicle is not only unique in appearance, it is also equipped with the Asseto Fiorano package for improved performance and stability. The package includes a lightweight carbon fibre front lip, Multimatic shock absorbers borrowed from GT racers, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres, and advanced components such as carbon rims and four-point race belts.
Inside, the car also shows its uniqueness. The silhouette of the Hungarian circuit and the national flag are embroidered on the headrests of the seats, and the words "Made for Purpose" are engraved on the welcome pedals, showing respect and nostalgia for that historic victory.
In terms of power performance, the 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano maintains the original configuration, equipped with a mid-mounted 2The 9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine and an electric motor deliver a total output of 830 hp and a peak torque of 740 Nm.
Although Ferrari is tight-lipped about the price of the car, it has been revealed that all five special edition models have been sold out, and that all buyers are from Hungary. This is not only a testament to the unique charm of Ferrari's vehicles, but also to the brand's importance and influence in the global racing culture.
