How to use the Loberta rule

Lopita's Law (l'hôpital's rule) is an effective way to solve a limit problem of the shape 0 0 or type. This law was developed by the 17th-century French mathematician Guillaume de L'Hence the name. Before using the Lopita rule, it is necessary to confirm that the desired limit problem is indeed 0 0 or , i.e. the numerator and denominator tend to 0 at the same time or to infinity at the same time.

The steps to use the Lopita rule are as follows:

1.Determine the form of the limit: First, determine whether the limit sought is 0 0 or type. This requires analyzing the behavior of the function as it approaches the limit point.

2.Derivative: Derivatives are found separately for the numerator and denominator. For the 0 0 type limit, the first derivative of the numerator and denominator needs to be found; For the type limit, you may need to find the higher-order derivatives of the numerator and denominator.

3.Find the limit again: Substitute the obtained derivative into the original limit expression and find the limit again. This process may be repeated until the limit values can be calculated directly.

4.Replace: In some cases, you can take advantage of the property of equivalent infinitesimal to replace some term in the limit expression with equivalent infinitesimal to simplify the calculation.

5.Check: After using the Lopita rule, it is necessary to check whether the obtained limit exists and whether the conditions for the original limit problem are met.

It should be noted that the Lopita rule is not a universal law for finding the limits of all types, it only applies to the limits of 0 0 and type. For other types of limits, such as , etc., the Loberta rule does not apply, and other methods are required to solve them.

In addition, the Lopita rule is often regarded as an over-the-top content in high school mathematics and is not necessarily directly examined in the college entrance examination. For high school students, it is more important to master the basic mathematical knowledge and methods. When using the Lopita rule, it should also be used as a means of solving problems, not the only way, after understanding the deep meaning of derivatives and limits.
