The snow left behind on campus

The snow left behind - education, happiness and safety are intertwined This week, a cold wave and two heavy snowfalls, and the highest temperature of 0 degrees per day, make this winter have the appearance of a northern winter. The wheat fields, the big trees, and the rooftops of the streets were covered in white and white. The entire campus is transformed into a winter wonderland and forms a natural skating rink. Today, when the climate is gradually warming, for our group of post-10 children, they have not experienced such a cold winter, and they have never seen the scene of ice and snow. This is undoubtedly a rare surprise for children, but for me as a teacher, watching the excitement and joy of children playing wildly on the ice and snow, I can't help but tighten the string of safety, for fear that the child will fall somewhere. I had to shovel the snow out of nowhere, and I had already made a decision in my mind. While organizing the students to shovel snow, a fifth-grader quietly walked up to me and whispered, "Teacher, can you leave a piece without shoveling?"When it's all done, we'll be a lot less happy. His eyes were full of nostalgia and anticipation for that snowy field. At that moment, I deeply felt the children's innocent yearning for nature and play.

Safety has always been the tight string of schools and teachers. Although the snow brings joy to children, it also brings safety hazards. Wrestling, skidding, colliding....These can be the cause of injuries to children. From a safety point of view, it is true that all snow should be shoveled. However, looking at the expectant eyes of the children, I had mixed feelings in my heart. Education cannot be just about imparting knowledge ......For them, the snow is a place to play, a place to create happiness with their peers. Leaving that snow behind gives them an opportunity to get close to nature, create happiness with their peers, and make good memories. Eventually, I decided to leave a piece of snow unshoveled. Provided, of course, that I have a verbal safety pact with the children. After leaving that snow behind, I often stood in the distance and quietly watched the children play in the snow. Their laughter, their cries, their chasing figures...It has become the most beautiful picture in my heart.

That snow field made me deeply appreciate the delicate relationship between education, happiness and safety. Education is not just about books and classrooms, but also about the moments that touch children's hearts. And happiness and security are not mutually exclusive, they can coexist, the key is that we dareResponsibleand have the courage to look for thatBalance point。And when we can find the right balance between education and happiness and security, then education will truly play its value.
