In 2020, Li Xun's sculpture "Outstanding Cadre - Yang Shanzhou" was selected into the list of national thematic art creations by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and was collected by the National Art Museum of China. Comrade Yang Shanzhou adhered to and practiced the creed of "life is endless, and serving the people is not stopped" all his life. After retiring, he took the initiative to give up the opportunity to enjoy his old age in the provincial capital, and resolutely returned to the remote Daliang Mountain, Baoshan County, Yunnan Province, to plant trees on a voluntary basis, and worked hard for 22 years to make 560,000 acres of barren mountains are dressed in green. The sculpture takes a nap from Yang Shanzhou's tree-planting scene: although he is tired, he does not sit down or lie down, but opens his buttons, rolls up his trouser legs, and holds his hoe, looking affectionately into the distance. Many barren mountains are still exposed with soil and rocks, and there is a long way to go in afforestation, but the good news is that the small pine trees behind them have quietly straightened their backs and are thriving. The work portrays Comrade Yang Shanzhou's ordinary and great representative moments, and the overall composition is a stable triangle. The author uses realistic techniques, focusing on the portrayal of expressions, and expresses the slightly anxious relief in the characters' eyes. The ground under his feet is walking, the water is flowing around him, the hero is silent, and uses his characteristic body language to convey the joy of "my hometown is already green mountains and green waters, and I no longer have nothing".
