On August 24, 1127, when Chen Dong, the leader of Yingtianfu (present-day Shangqiu, Henan), the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, received an invitation from the commander of the Kyoto garrison to "pass the palace to discuss matters", he knew that the time had come, and asked the envoy to sit down, eat calmly, and write a suicide note, "Calligraphy and painting are as usual." He handed the suicide note to his friend and said, "When I die, you will pass this letter to my parents!"”
After the meal, Chen Dong asked to go to the toilet. Seeing that the envoy's face was embarrassed, Chen Dong smiled and said: "I am dignified Chen Dong, if I am afraid of death, I will not dare to go to the court again and again, since I am brave and loyal, how can I escape?"The messenger said bluntly: "I have long admired you, how dare I persecute you?"”
Chen Dong calmly changed the crown belt into the bedroom and said goodbye to his classmates. The next day, Chen Dong and Ouyang Che of Jiangxi Buyi were "beheaded in the same city." ”
Why was Chen Dong able to die calmly?
When Chen Dong was in his hometown of Jiang Danyang, he became famous for being free and bold, positive, and unwilling to be poor. At that time, Cai Jing, Wang Hao and other traitorous ministers controlled the government, "no one dares to point out." Chen Dong "had nothing to hide", and every time he attended the rally, he generously denounced the traitorous ministers in power, so frightened that the people sitting quietly slipped away for fear of being implicated. When he became an adult, he was recommended by the local people to Jingshi to enter Taixue and became a respected Tai student.
At the end of 1125, the Jin soldiers marched south to Bianjing. Song Huizong was so frightened that he fainted and urgently meditated. After Chen Dong learned that Song Qinzong had the intention of making great efforts to govern the country, he immediately encouraged the students to "write a letter to Fu Que", attributing the reason for the decline of the Great Song Dynasty to Cai Jing and other "six thieves" who deceived the monarch and disregarded the troubles of the dynasty. "In order to establish his prestige, Song Qinzong resolutely disposed of three of the "six thieves".
Tong Guan and other traitors learned that the Jin soldiers had crossed the Yellow River south again, and hurriedly held Song Huizong hostage. Chen Dong wrote alone, requesting that Tong Guan be recovered, punished in accordance with the legal code, and another "faithful person" was selected to protect Song Huizong as he went south. The suggestion was not adopted by Song Qinzong, Chen Dong was not discouraged, and when "the Jin people forced the Beijing Division", "please punish the six thieves again", and exposed Liang Shicheng, one of the six thieves, as "a thief." Song Qinzong was forced to "die" Liang Shicheng under pressure.
Song Qinzong panicked in the face of the persecution of the Jin soldiers, and allowed Li Bangyan, the prime minister of the Lord and faction, to dismiss the famous generals Li Gang and the seed master. Li Bangyan was subservient and tried his best to advocate the cession of land and negotiate peace, and even executed a thunderbolt gunner who shelled the Jin soldiers without authorization. Chen Dong was filled with righteous indignation, "reinstated all the living beings and Fu Xuande's subordinates to write a letter", praised Li Gang and others as "those who bravely disregard and take on the important position of the world", and angrily denounced the Lord and faction headed by Li Bangyan as "the so-called thieves of the society" who are "mediocre and talented, jealous of illness and ability, acting for personal purposes, and not caring for the national plan".On behalf of the patriotic students, he appealed to the imperial court: to restore Li Gang and the cultivation of the Taoist position, "to calm the heart of China and foreign countries", and belittled Li Bangyan and other thieves.
The patriotic enthusiasm of the students greatly infected the soldiers and civilians in the capital, and tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians flocked to Xuandemen from all directions to support the students. Song Qinzong learned that the angry crowd had beaten dozens of eunuchs and chamberlains to death, so he had to immediately summon Li Gang and Seed Master Dao into the palace and reinstate the officials to resume the anti-gold work. So far, the patriotic *** led by Chen Dong has been a complete success.
After Jin Bing crossed the river and returned, Chen Dong wrote a letter for the fourth time to request that the six thieves be killed. Song Qinzong learned from the pain, killed the six thieves, and finally solved all the six thieves.
The killing of the six thieves was indispensable to Chen Dong. However, the forest is big, and there are all kinds of birds!Due to the fact that some of the "unscrupulous people of the Beijing Division" were mixed in the crowd, they "took advantage of the people to kill and injure the inner servants, looted more than ten inner servants, and took their gold silks." As a result, the peace movement of the Tai students was later characterized by the imperial court as an act of "threatening the Son of Heaven with loyalty".
The commander of the Kyoto garrison recommended that all the students be arrested and brought to justice, and the news broke, "Everyone is afraid." As the leader, Chen Dong naturally became the target of public criticism. The classmates persuaded him to run away quickly to save his life, and Chen Dong smiled: "The words of the monarchs are too ridiculous!."I'll run away and let you wait for your death?I've already put my head in the ground!”
In order to appease the people's anger, Song Qinzong replaced the head of the Tai School. The new principal announced the reinstatement of Chen Dong to appease the students. Chen Dong believes that he has completed the historical mission of killing the six thieves, and has written five times, "I will resign and return." ”
The Shame of Jingkang", the second emperor of Huiqin was captured, and the Northern Song Dynasty died. At that time, Zhao Gou, the generalissimo of soldiers and horses, ascended the throne as Song Gaozong in Yingtianfu on the first day of the fifth month. Five days after he ascended the throne, he made great efforts to make the main battle faction Li Gang the prime minister, and was fully responsible for the anti-gold work. Ten days later, he summoned Chen Dong, who was far away from his hometown in the south, to the imperial court.
Chen Dong was full of ambition to serve the country and went north to Yingtianfu, and conceived a strategy of resisting gold and governing the country along the way. It's a pity that due to various reasons, he has not been summoned by Song Gaozong after he arrived in Beijing.
After Li Gang became prime minister, he took a series of measures to actively prepare for war and rectify the government, so that Song Gaozong was full of spirits and shouted: "Jin Renqiu is high and cold and comes to enter the Kou again, and I will personally supervise the six armies to aid the capital and the roads of Hebei and Hedong, and fight a decisive battle with it!""It's a pity that the good times didn't last long, and Song Gaozong reused Huang Qianshan, Wang Boyan and other traitors who were "in the phase, autocratic and self-indulgent, and could not have any scriptures" and were "impeached by the imperial historians, down to Wei Bu's inner servants". These traitors had already been frightened by the Jin soldiers, and tried their best to persuade Song Gaozong to flee south and move the capital under the pretext of "patrolling the southeast" and taking advantage of the Yangtze River to avoid the enemy. Li Gang was-for-tat and suggested that Song Gaozong stick to the Central Plains to show his heart to resist the enemy. Song Gaozong was greedy for life and afraid of death, and the balance gradually favored the side of the traitorous ministers, so he dismissed Li Gang on charges of "putting an end to words and ways and being good at government affairs".
When Chen Dong heard that Li Gang, who had only been in power for more than 70 days, was dismissed, he was worried, "It is to write a letter to beg (Li) Gang to stop Huang Qianshan and Wang Boyan." Because of the delay in replying, he wrote to ask Song Gaozong to drive the expedition in person, "to return the two saints, and cure the crime of not entering the army, in order to improve morale!".He advised Song Gaozong to use Yingtianfu as a base and strive to return to Tokyo as soon as possible. At the same time, I implore the emperor to remove Huang Qianshan and other traitorous ministers as soon as possible.
The two letters seriously angered Huang Qianshan, who strongly advocated Song Gaozong to move the capital to the south, and he gritted his teeth with hatred and racked his brains to try to shut Chen Dong up forever. Coincidentally, the "Ouyang Che Incident" gave him an opportunity.
Buyi Ouyang Che "worried about the country and Min", walked thousands of miles from his hometown to Beijing to "write and say things", and fiercely criticized Huang Qianshan and other rulers of the corpse vegetarian meal, and accused Song Gaozong of "palace ban and pet music (indulging in women's sex)." Huang Qianshan was annoyed and ashamed, and suddenly had a poisonous plan to kill two birds with one stone. He was alarmist in front of Song Gaozong, and tried his best to slander Chen Dong and Ouyang Che, saying that if they were not killed immediately, they would definitely encourage everyone to repeat the *** of the year
Song Gaozong listened to and believed partially, and ordered the two to be killed. After all, he was a thief with a weak heart, and he did not issue the edict to the ** department, but handed it over to Huang Qianshan alone to carry it out secretly.
The bad news of Chen Dong's heroic righteousness came out, "Knowing and not knowing are all runny." He was forty years old. "Buyi Ouyang Che" died at the age of Chinese New Year's Eve. "Three years later," Gaozong felt and posthumously presented Dong and Che Chengshilang. ”
Chen Dong, as the leader of the country, worked hard for the future and destiny of the country and the nation, first desperately begged the court to kill the six thieves, and then complained angrily and reprimanded the traitor for Li Gang, who had never met him, and was finally unjustly killed. The responsibilities and responsibilities of ancient Chinese intellectuals when the nation was in danger were vividly reflected in Chen Dong! This spirit has also become the endless blood of the Chinese nation
