I majored in furniture design and manufacturing, and after graduating in 2019, I stayed in school to teach, and previously participated in the 45th World Skills Competition National Competition, guided students to participate in the first vocational skills competition of the People's Republic of China and was selected for the national training team, and led students to participate in the second vocational skills competition of the People's Republic of China held in Tianjin in September this year, and won the gold medal in the furniture production project.
My understanding of furniture design is that 'design should be human-centered'. After seeing the title of this competition, 'Leisure Chair in Public Space', I started from my own needs and combined with my relatively tall characteristics, I designed a chair with a footstool, and gave the footstool the function of being able to be flipped into a small coffee table. This design invisibly increases the workload and is also a test of my hands-on ability. In fact, in the daily teaching work, we also found that there is still a gap between the practical ability and actual production of some students, and this competition attaches great importance to the examination of production ability, which also points out the direction for our future teaching.
