Recently, BYD Auto and the Planet Research Institute jointly launched a natural geography science documentary, "Qaidam: Farewell, Super Lake", in this documentary, the first model of Formula Leopard Automobile, Leopard 5, leads us to explore the mysterious past and present life of Qaidam, and leads us to appreciate the different mountains and rivers of China.
I'm sure everyone has heard of the Qaidam Basin, but what few people know is that the Qaidam was once a super lake far larger than Qinghai Lake, about ten times the size of Qinghai Lake now. But over time, this large lake has disappeared, leaving only some unique salt lakes and Yadan landforms, which have made Qaidam known as the "Martian Experiment Site" on Earth.
The birth and disappearance of the Great Lake benefited from the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which also left Qaidam with rich landscapes and resources. Today, Qaidam not only has abundant traditional energy sources such as natural gas and coal, but also is an important base for new energy sources such as photovoltaics, solar thermal and wind power.
The changes in the Qaidam Basin are also a testament to how technology can breathe new life into the earth's development. As a staunch practitioner of global sustainable development, BYD is promoting the global green transformation by building an all-round zero-emission new energy overall solution. BYD's new energy products such as photovoltaic and energy storage have entered more than 100 countries around the world, and the total sales of new energy vehicles have exceeded 6 million, reducing carbon emissions by more than 44 million tons for the world.
In the midst of the vicissitudes of life, BYD insists on using technological innovation to promote green development. As early as 2008, BYD took the lead in proposing three green dreams: solar energy, energy storage power stations and electric vehicles. Today, BYD has formed a matrix of multiple car brands, covering a full range of needs from home to luxury, from mass to personalization. BYD's new energy passenger vehicles have been distributed in 58 countries and regions around the world, allowing more people to enjoy high-quality green travel.
The natural changes and the development of science and technology in Qaidam tell us that only through continuous innovation can we achieve true sustainable development. BYD is such a model of a company that is constantly innovating and committed to promoting the global green transformation. Whether it is through the all-round construction of new energy solutions or the continuous introduction of new energy products, BYD is helping to achieve a better tomorrow for green and sustainable development. At the same time, BYD is also using its actions to tell us that only when each of us takes action can we truly achieve the goal of green and sustainable development.
