Located at No. 224 Jungong Road, formerly known as Merlin Canned Food Co., Ltd., it was founded in July 19 (1930).
In 1954, the Great and Kailin Canning Factories and the Scientific Printing Iron Canning Factory were merged into the public-private joint venture Merlin Canned Food Factory. It has successfully trial-produced canned luncheon meat, eight-treasure rice, ham and so on. In 1958, luncheon meat and canned mushrooms began to be exported. In 1960, Meilin Canned Food Factory merged with the state-owned Yimin Food No. 2 Factory, and after the technical transformation of the 70s and 80s, the introduction of key equipment realized the continuous production of tomato paste, broad beans, green beans, mushrooms, and eight treasure rice. By 1990, the factory's products formed meat, poultry, aquatic products, fruits, vegetables and other 7 categories, more than 100 varieties, the annual output of various types of canned food reached more than 20,000 tons, the output value of 125.12 million yuan, exports of 23 million US dollars, of which more than 80 products are sold to Europe, America, Japan, Southeast Asia, Africa, Hong Kong and Macao. Canned luncheon meat won the National Silver Medal twice in 1980 and 1983.
In 1990, Meilin Canned Food Factory had 12,084 employees, the original value of fixed assets was 33.73 million yuan, the net value was 22.08 million yuan, covering an area of 32,000 square meters and a construction area of 43,000 square meters. With profits and taxes of 3.21 million yuan, it was one of the 500 largest enterprises in the country in 1990. In 1988, it was named a national second-class enterprise.
