Yan Zhenqing's "Ode to the Rise of the Tang Dynasty" is a small note
Liu Xiaolong. In the mid-autumn of Xinchou, the Yongzhou Cliff Stone Carving Rubbing Exhibition was exhibited at the National Museum, among which the large-character cliff "Ode to the Rise of the Tang Dynasty" (picture 1) written by Yuan Jie and written by Yan Zhenqing attracted much attention.
Fig.1 Yan Zhenqing's "Ode to the Rise of the Tang Dynasty" rubbing (detail).
This cliff work, the height and width are about 450cm, 21 lines, 20 words in the full line, about 20cm in a single word, and 263 words in the preface. It is a masterpiece of Yan Zhenqing's regular script that has entered the mature period. I like to write big characters, so I Xi this work, and feel the magnificent and rich pen and ink atmosphere of Yan Zhenqing from practice.
Judging from the cliff rubbing and carved stone **, this work is special, it is a left-line straight book, contrary to the usual right-line writing Xi, novel and chic. This work is written by Yan Zhenqing at the age of 63, when Yan Zhenqing was old, and compared with the "Magu Xiantan Ji", "Song Guangping Tablet" and "Yanjia Temple Tablet" created in the same period, the atmosphere of this work is different. Although this work was written in the same year as "The Legend of Magu Immortal Altar", the pen is more thick and round, full and subtle. This is probably due to the large diameter of the characters and the different pens. Make big characters, focus on the dot painting is full, the momentum is open, and the ink color is thick, so as to show its positive atmosphere, Yan Zhenqing is undoubtedly well versed in this. Always learn Xi big characters, choose more "Crane Ming", this is the world's recognized theory, this monument comes out, can be called the big character "double bi". No wonder Huang Tingjian commented: "There is no big character in "Crane Ming", and there is a famous cliff ode "Zhongxing" in the evening. ”
As a tribute to the achievements of Tang Suzong after recovering the eastern and western capitals after his accession to the throne, Yuan Jie's rhetoric is ancient and bold, full of passion, looking forward to the Tang Dynasty Zhongxing, Yan Zhenqing is also infected by the text, his heart is excited, and he does it in one go, and the next pen is more exciting and magnificent. It can be described as a famous book, and it is really a famous work.
To Xi this work, two eight-foot sheets of paper were selected, and the words were folded according to the number of vertical and horizontal characters in the original work, and the word by word was carried out in the usual way from right to left (Fig. 2).

In writing, carefully observe the changes of dot painting and the law of knotting, its glyph is broad, and the pen is subtle and clumsy, which has been detached from the rigorous law of "Li Xuanjing Tablet".
At the end of the day, he seemed to have an understanding, and he took advantage of the selection of content, and then created two pieces of paper (Fig. 3 is one of them) to test the results of copying, and turn them into internal forces.

Yuan and Yan combine to create a wonderful structure, and Xixi is famous for this. Through reading and copying this work, I have a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Yongzhou, Hunan, and also have a mysterious yearning for the forest of Xixi steles, and have an important understanding of re-examining the Xi Yan Ti Kaishu.
Today, I will create a small work, and seek advice from the teachers and friends of the Fang family!
