Gentle nobleman
Sanyu is not often encountered
Sanyu paints oil paintings, and is very good at "leaving blank".
In his paintings, white is almost omnipotent, it can be an object, it can be space, and even the outline line itself, with the extremely simple composition, it seems to be vivid, conveying a wealth of Chinese imagery. ”

Sanyu
China's last gentle nobleman
Sanyu
Sanyu's flowers are in different states.
Xu Zhimo once wrote it down.
Sanyu's words: "Heaven took a handful of colors and sprinkled them on the ground, roses, rolands, pomegranates, hostas, and autumn baskets, all of which were stained with one or several colors." ”
Sanyu's animals tend to be warm in pink tones.
This unreal color adds a touch of otherworldly spirituality to the animal, freeing it from the wild nature of the beast altogether.
The human body and animals lack the distinction between upper and lower levels and primary and secondary in his depictions, giving people a sense of freedom and freedom.
It is not only the freedom to stretch out in the world, but also the freedom of physical transformation, the freedom to transcend the cultural baggage of the East and the West.
I'd like to talk to you about it in the near future.
China's last gentle noble son Sanyu
A world-class painter, the Chinese-style Modigliani.
#Author: Sanyu
Sanyu Sanyu (October 14, 1895 - August 12, 1966), whose real name is Chang Youshu, was born in Shunqing, Sichuan, a modern painter, Sanyu Xi painting with Zhao Xi in 1910, and Sanyu went to Paris in 1919 with Xu Beihong and Lin Fengmian on a work-study basis.
Sanyu's artistic views are different from theirs, he does not go to art academies, and often spends his time in cafes watching Dream of the Red Chamber or painting while playing the violin. Sanyu insisted on his own way in art and pursued spiritual freedom, and he experienced ups and downs, and lived a life of obscurity and unappreciatedToday, he is recognized in the West as a world-class painter and is known as the "Chinese-style Modigliani".
In the thirties of the last century, Sanyu's brother in Nanchong, Sichuan died, and his economic situation also took a sharp turn for the worse. He used to make pottery, he made a living as a merchant, and he also worked in Paris and Berlin to promote sports, but to no avail.
In the run-up to the European War in 1938, Sanyu's financial situation worsened, and he continued to hold regular exhibitions. In the thirties, he participated in the Salon d'Autumn, the Salon des Indépendant, and especially the Salon des Tuileries in France, where he had a great influence in Paris. According to the old overseas Chinese in Paris, Sanyu should have become famous at that time, but Sanyu failed to become famous in the end.
In the late forties, after spending a year and a half in New York, Sanyu's work failed to sell, and he returned to Paris to continue his selfless work in art. Sanyu's work was later selected for the Salon des Indépendants, but the response was mediocre. Sanyu's life became more difficult and lonely. In the early hours of August 12, 1966, Sanyu was found dead, dead in his Montparnasse studio due to a gas leak. Sanyu lived in obscurity and unappreciated in Paris all his life.
Sanyu's animal works mostly depict the vast earth, the ancient roads, or the yellow sand road, and the desolate situation of no one around.
Sanyu's still life works are a mirror of his inner world, and most of the flowers in the paintings are lonely and powerless, and most of them reveal a sense of desolation.
Whether it's moving or still, I think every lonely person can fall in love with his work.
As he said, "I have nothing in my life, I am just a painter".
Sanyu's works are the feelings of his motherland, and the deeply buried nostalgia has turned into the seeds of his art, and he belongs to the category of nostalgic literature. ”
