Pack light and be "colorful".
Rapoo VT9 Pro Pro Mini in-depth review experience
With the development of e-sports equipment to this day, the needs of gamers have gradually added the demand for lightweight on the basis of the pursuit of cool and high performance. Lightweight e-sports has gradually become a key demand indicator for major gaming equipment manufacturers.
In the lightweight mouse segment, while being lighter, those mice that can achieve lower latency and faster control are often more popular with gamers. In the Rapoo brand, as a lightweight series, the Rapoo VT series is believed to be very familiar to everyone: this series abandons the mechanical structure and light-emitting elements to greatly reduce the weight of the mouse, while having lower latency and higher rate of return. Now, this series has also introduced new members: VT9 Pro has added a lot of colorful new coats to itself, and considering the small hands of female players, VT9 Pro Mini has also joined the VT series family. So what is the actual experience of these two new mice?In this issue, let's take a look.
Unboxing
Get the mouse box, the same style as usual, the front of the package is the appearance of Rapoo VT9 Pro and mini, the left side is the mouse model, and the dual mode refers to the wired and wireless dual mode. The box is a drawstring design, so I won't repeat it here.
On the back of the box is a brief description of the key functions of the two mice, with additional selling points and other details. The mini version is also eye-catching on the back of the packaging box marked with a "small and medium-sized hand" sticker, which can avoid large hand users from choosing the wrong one, and it is also convenient for small and medium-sized hand users to buy at a glance, which is more intimate.
The two mice are unboxed together, and the box contains the body of Rapoo VT9 Pro and MINI mice, each with a USB-A to USB-C interface paracord material power supply data cable, an anti-interference USB adapter, and a warranty card with the manual provided with the mouse, Teflon material foot stickers and anti-slip stickers, etc., which are very complete. As for 2.The 4GHz USB wireless receiver is hidden inside the mouse.
It is also worth mentioning that both mice support wireless charging with Rapoo P3 wireless charging module. This module does not come with the mouse, and students who need wireless charging need to purchase it themselves.
Appearance and core technology
The Rapoo VT9 Pro I got this time is gray in the colorful version, while the mini version is black. To be honest, the lightweight product and the colorful design do have a youthful atmosphere, and it turns out that the colorful design of this mouse is also loved by young people. There is not much difference in the appearance of these two mice, the overall style is similar, the overall 10 keys of the mouse are programmable, of which 1 DIY independent key + 9 basic function keys, rich in functions.
In terms of the main buttons and scroll wheels, the details of the anti-skid lines of the gray version of the VT9 Pro mouse wheel are also relatively good, especially the orange and gray contrast design, which is quite supercar-like. There are two orange custom function buttons above the scroll wheel, and then there are tough mouse segmented cutting lines behind it, which is relatively calm.
When it comes to buttons, we have to talk about the C+ detached button preload adjustment technology introduced by the two mice: the left and right micro motion PCB version and PCB motherboard are separated independently, and the pre-compression torsion spring is added to independently adjust the feel of the buttons, without interfering with each other, which solves the problem of inconsistent feel of the button trigger rebound due to the difference in grip posture and grip, comprehensively improves the consistency of the press, and avoids the cavity sound of the mouse buttons. At present, this technology is only available to Logitech and Rapoo, and Rapoo is the first of its kind in the domestic field.
Because the left and right micro-motion PCBs are independent in this technology, the replacement of the micro-motion does not need to consider the trade-off of the adjustment, does not need to consider the balance, the operation is simpler, and the adjustment is easier. In addition, in terms of specific adjustment, these two mice support us to adjust the feel by ourselves: by adjusting the tightness of the screws of the micro-moving small plate, we can adjust the preload stroke and change the soft and crisp feel.
Like the previous VT9 series, these two mice have a high-gloss Rapoo logo on the back end, and no lighting is added to the logo, making the mouse simple and atmospheric. Of course, the light-colored version also needs to be refracted by the light to look carefully to see the logo.
Of course, the mini version is compared to the pro, and the text logo of Rapoo is added to the right side of the right mouse button. Overall, the first feeling of these two mice is that their shells are very slim and lightweight, and their portability, grip, and sliding feel are very good.
Like VT9, the Pro and Pro Mini versions of the mouse as a whole are also matte and matte design, which makes the whole mouse look very good, whether it is black or gray, the mouse looks more calm and tough, and it is also more suitable for business office.
As for the side buttons of the mouse, the Pro version has sharper lines than the Pro Mini, while the side buttons of the Mini are more rounded. There is also no RGB translucent light strip under their side buttons, which continues the previous lightweight business style, and it is not an exaggeration to appear in the office.
At the bottom of the mouse, the design style of the two mice is the same, and the highlight is the DIY button at the bottom: because at the bottom, this button does not have the necessary basic function, so the degree of freedom of customization is higher, and it is anti-mistouch. It can be seen that its playability is still relatively high.
As mentioned above, the receiver of this mouse is hidden at the bottom of the mouse, of course, in addition to the receiver that comes with the mouse itself, we can also buy a 4K receiver separately, so that the mouse supports 4K return rate, which will be mentioned later. In terms of engine, these two mice are equipped with a customized version of the 3398 optical engine (3395 high-end version) of PixArt and Rapoo's in-depth cooperation, which can be upgraded to 11 levels of silent height selection after updating the driver, mouse firmware, and receiver firmware, while stability and performance will be optimized.
In addition, this mouse also comes with an anti-interference adapter for a wireless receiver, which is used when we switch to wireless mode, we can not plug the receiver into the computer, but insert it into the USB adapter, and put it on the desktop alone, closer to the mouse, so as to reduce the interference of many wireless signals near the computer such as WLAN, Bluetooth, etc., in order to get a better wireless gaming experience.
Of course, both mice can be used with the Rapoo V2M 4K wireless receiver. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, with it, Rapoo has achieved the goal of bringing Rapoo 4K wireless gaming technology to a lightweight mouse, which is simple, lightweight, and fast. This receiver is equipped with an NXP chip that supports 4kHz 2kHz 1kHz return rate and supports 025ms/0.The 5ms and 1ms fast response can be said to greatly reduce the latency of esports.
Therefore, for professional gamers, if you feel that the original 1KHZ Nano receiver is not enough, you can use this receiver that is about the size of an ordinary USB flash drive to further expand the rate.
Hands-on experience
In terms of practical use, during the week of using each of my two mice, I discovered the importance of Rapoo drivers.
The DPI of the two mice can be customized through the supporting driver software on the official website**, and you can set seven different DPI values separately first, which is convenient for quick switching through buttons in different scenarios.
Of course, in addition to customizing the DPI, the driver software can also customize the specific corresponding parameters of Rapoo VT9 Pro and Pro Mini, including the reporting rate setting: 4K receiver supports 4000 2000 1000Hz return rate optional, corresponding to 025ms/0.5ms 1ms transfer speed. Built-in receiver: 1000 500 250 125Hz rate is optional, corresponding to 1ms 2ms 4ms 8ms transmission speed.
In addition, through the driver, we can also change the pointer speed without entering the Windows settings, including key macro editing, macro command triggering, recording one-click shortcut operation, etc., 10 keys support modification and customization. In particular, the DIY independent button at the bottom can be set to switch the return rate from 125Hz to 4000Hz and the receiver switch (which can be switched between a device connected to a 4kHz receiver and a device connected to a 1kHz receiver) by driving it, which is more playable.
After setting up a set of configurations that meet our own usage habits, we can also save them as a configuration file with one click, and then we are not afraid that it will be difficult to restore to the previous settings if there are changes.
In short, the playability of the mouse with the driver is still relatively high, and you can explore its new gameplay on your own. However, it is highly recommended that you upgrade the latest driver as soon as you get the mouse, so that you can experience the most extreme gaming experience.
A set of configurations, in my actual game experience, the low latency, long battery life, and anti-interference of these two mice have indeed made me not encounter broken touches in the game, mouse slippage, etc., especially when playing some shooting games, the game experience is really good.
Finally, compared with Pro, the Pro Mini version reduces the length of the mouse on the basis of lightweight, so that small and medium-sized gamers and some small-handed female gamers can grasp the mouse more firmly during the game, and they use this small mouse, whether in the operation space, or in the work can greatly improve the efficiency. If you think that all the gaming mice on the market are too big, then the Pro Mini may be the solution to your problem of choosing a gaming mouse.
Well, that's all for this review. If you have any questions about this mouse set, you are welcome to leave a message, if you think this review is helpful to you, you are welcome to like, leave a message, **Finally, I sincerely thank Rapoo for providing the evaluation opportunity, and we will see you next time.
